We had the good fortune of connecting with Jay Pearson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jay, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As a child, Saturdays meant accompanying my father to his office, where I’d settle into my favorite cubicle by the window, engrossed in tracing magazine covers. My dad, the quintessential businessman, always carried three essentials: a jangling key ring boasting an assortment of keys, a sleek briefcase, and a bundle of business cards secured with a rubber band. It was here that I had my first taste of what it meant to be a businessman.
The decision to launch my own ventures stemmed from a multitude of motivations. Seeking financial prosperity was certainly a driving force. Yet, beyond monetary gain, the allure of entrepreneurship lay in the freedom it afforded me. I craved autonomy, desiring to chart my own course rather than adhere to the confines of conventional employment. To me, being a business owner represented the epitome of self-determination.
With the inception of SynXGlobal, I identified a void in the transportation market that begged to be filled. Whether through our innovative CMT1 program or top-notch management services, we seized the opportunity to address unmet needs and offer superior solutions. Bolstered by an unwavering entrepreneurial spirit and a readiness to embrace risks, I embarked on this journey fully aware of its challenges, yet undeterred by the promise of ultimate fulfillment.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
SynXGlobal is a unique company that operates in a captive 25 billion dollar untapped market. The company takes the leading and the lagging performers in the transportation industry and sets them together in a collaborative environment, creating the first minority-owned tier-one logistics company in the US.
In many industries, the ability to meet service demand often separates the thriving from the struggling. Within the transportation sector, numerous owner-operators find themselves unable to scale up due to limited resources and risk tolerance, leading to their gradual displacement. SynXGlobal steps in to bridge this gap, offering small business owners the guidance and opportunities needed to expand and compete effectively in this cutthroat industry.
As an entrepreneur, I’ve come to realize that some of the most valuable lessons are those that shed light on our own capabilities and limitations. Quitting may seem like the easy way out, and I’ve certainly been tempted to throw in the towel on numerous occasions. SynXGlobal presented ample opportunities for me to succumb to that temptation. Yet, each day, I chose not to be defined by my impulse to quit. Instead, I approached each challenge with a determination to persevere, regardless of the obstacles. Business, I’ve learned, isn’t solely about navigating external complexities but also about mastering the art of self-discipline and resilience.
SynXGlobal sets its sights on becoming the nation’s first certified minority-owned tier one logistics company.
