Meet Sig Mosley | Investor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sig Mosley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sig, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born in Jasper, Ga which is about an hour north of Atlanta. It was a small town with a primarily white population. I was an only child.
In high school, I mowed lawns, worked the school sports concession stand, wrote for the school newspaper, was a Boy Scout, and cleaned the Baptist church as an assistant janitor as well as served as the librarian of the church. My upbringing was fairy unremarkable except that I was driving before I had a license. I was voted “most dependable”in my senior high school class.
I had a great mentor in Charles Walker, pastor of the local Baptist church. He was a liberal thinking individual and influenced my way of thinking.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a prolific early-stage investor who has been in Atlanta’s tech industry since 1990, when the term angel investor didn’t even exist. As former president of Imlay Investments and head of my own fund, Mosley Ventures, I have invested in more than 165 young companies. . My attitude—nurturing entrepreneurs in addition to funding them , as well as the time involved probably is what has earned me the moniker “the godfather of angel investing” in Atlanta. My nature is patient, affable, firm, and wise. I try always to be there for my companies.
