We had the good fortune of connecting with christelle anani and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi christelle, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Content Creation is just as much of a career as anything else. Although it may seem fleeting, easy, and unserious due to the glitz and glam of it all, it is hard work. In this digital age where social media is the name of the game for marketing, content creation is vital. We see it in entrepreneurs who are realizing they need to bring people onto their teams to stay relevant and attract clients online. You have to brainstorm, script, record, edit, add your creative flare, post at the optimal time, tweak your hashtag/keyword/topic strategy, and learn from your analytics to remain successful. If you want to work with brands, there’s a whole other world of pitching, marketing materials, brand calls, deliverable communications, and more. The difference is that, I would much rather choose content creation than a corporate/agency 9-5 where I feel like a robot. It’s the reason why I quit, pursued my own thing, and landed a full-time job in social media marketing/content creation. I have no regrets, it’s all working out how it’s supposed to.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Creatively Christelle is my Digital Marketing Business. I’ve had seasons of intense dedication to it, and seasons where it’s taken the back burner for sure. What’s been keeping me going is the realization that it is okay to pivot. It’s in the brand name. Creatively CHRISTELLE. The brand and the business is me. As I evolve, my business should as well. I started off doing graphics through Canva, but that is not my main creative interest right now. I want to help others to become content creators and understand the ins and outs of the industry. I also have my masters in marketing & profession experience in social media, branding, influencer, and pr that I am tapping into. Eventually, I want to scale the business through digital products, but It’ll come together in due time. I am excited to find the balance between giving myself grace and applying pressure. My theory is that as long as I remain authentic, move out of faith and not fear, and share my creativity with love, I will succeed.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m from Gwinnett county (GCO!!!) and I do NOT want to perp ATL but we’d get a good mix of the city and the suburbs. I’d take them to First Friday at the High Museum + hit up a happy hour or food hall so they could get their choice of food. I’d definitely try to catch an experience like an arts/pottery class, but would also hit up a restaurant for a cute little drink/food/aesthetic moment. I’d definitely go to Rum Punch Brunch with them on Sunday after Brunch at Ms. Icey’s. Lastly, If we had time, I’d show them around Gwinnett since we’re on the come up. I’m sure we’d find a cute park, bakery, or deli to chill and unwind before the trip was over!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My fellow content creator friends truly keep me going and understand me. Shoutout to Nelly V on YouTube, my good friend and sister in real life since 2016. Shoutout to Yana Vida on YouTube, my good friend whom I met in grad school, even though our program was virtual. I know these people are not in my life by accident and i’m grateful for their feedback, support, and understanding. I have a host of supportive friends and family as well. Thank God for my community!
