Where are you from and how did your background and upbringing impact who you are today?


Through our work we have had the good fortune of seeing firsthand how success comes in every shape, size, color, faith, and orientation. More importantly we’ve learned that success is often the result of people embracing their unique backgrounds and so we’ve asked the community to tell us about their background and how it has impacted where they are today.

Well first & foremost I was born in flint Michigan and raised in Decatur Georgia and basically suburban parts outside of The Atlanta area And growing up I was always a hip hop head and loved to dance to a lot of old school songs from the late 90s and I decided to take the Route of doing music in the spring of 2013 and every since then I’ve released 8 studio albums and continuously grown as a person mentally and spiritually. I am from Flint Michigan. I grew up with a young mother who gave birth to me on her 18th birthday. Although, she and my father were married for 7 years, he spent majority of my life incarcerated. Read more>>

Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland, and attending Baltimore City Schools, including graduating from Western High School, deeply influenced who I am today. Baltimore’s vibrant communities and diverse neighborhoods provided me with a unique perspective on life from an early age. Read more>>

I am originally from Beijing, China, but I spent five years in Savannah, GA. I graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) as a film student, concentrating on producing and editing. Read more>>

I always like to say I’m from Houstonlanta as a joke because those two places are a big part of who I’ve grown up to be. I was fortunate enough to have a beautiful upbringing with its bumps along the way but for the most part it was beautiful. Read more>>

I am originally from Long Island, NY but lived in London, England for a few years and then moved to New Jersey. Growing up my grandfather was a big part of my upbringing, he would babysit me when I was little, and he was my piano teacher. Read more>>
