We had the good fortune of connecting with Krista Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Krista, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
I would say that my most oft repeated quote is the Marines’ mantra which is “Improvise, Adapt, Overcome”. It really applies to my life in that you have to be fluid and adaptable and if not, then things are infinitely harder. I often joke that I am the Queen of Plan D, E F since they are beyond Plan A and B, lol. Basically roll with it and everything will work out as it should.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have always had a strong work ethic and always had multiple jobs, so it was just a natural progression into self-employment. I have owned/managed a number of small businesses, some successful and one not so much. My current real estate brokerage has been in place since 2014 and opened Saltville Grotto & Spa in 2022 as an offset to my stressful real estate career. I wanted something fun, lighthearted and that showcased the native Floridian in me, the major bonus is that the salt therapy has tremendous health benefits as well. I have totally fallen in love with the Spa and the benefits that people can derive from our services. I like to joke that this will be my retirement business. Anyone that knows me, knows I will still work even after retiring.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is kinda funny because I just had a longtime friend in town for a long weekend and they actually came to the Spa and had a treatment in both the Salt Cave and the Floatation pods. They were hooked. The majority of my friends would avoid in-town so it makes it a little harder to answer this question. However, I do have a few fave places and restaurants. Specifically, Village Corner in Stone Mountain and Sapori di napoli in Decatur. As for places, I love small towns and state parks, so obviously there are quite a few of those around the state.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would recognize my BFF and assistant Angie Jarrard as well as Becky Kiper, they are integral to the success of the Spa and help to keep my sanity.
