We had the good fortune of connecting with Cecelia Cornett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cecelia, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Outsiders may not realize how much time and effort goes on behind the scenes. Your session doesn’t begin and end with the actual photoshoot. An hour-long session often produces thousands of images. Culling down and selecting the best images from those thousands is time consuming, as is editing each and every picture. It’s truly a labor of love.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Growing up, my father – a cinematographer – taught me how to see the world in pictures. It was always just a hobby until my daughter, Gwen, was born in 2017. At that point I became obsessed with documenting each and every milestone, and I absolutely feel in love with the process of preserving memories.

I did experience a personal setback shortly before the pandemic that led to me putting Cecelia Paige Photography on pause. At the beginning of 2020 I experienced the first of what would become many pregnancy losses. During this time, photographing newborns became too painful, and I decided to temporarily close shop. My time away was transformative. I was able to concentrate on my health, further my business education, and the experience ended up bolstering my love of photography. I proudly re-launched CPP following the birth of my son, Archer, in 2022.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta has so many fun and unique places to go! Our itinerary wouldn’t be complete without stopping by the following places:

Day Trip to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens: is there anything better than being surrounded by beautiful flowers and flora?

Exploring Piedmont Park: it’s one of my favorite spots for photo sessions in the city!

Shopping at Ponce City Market: with lots of fun shops and eateries, we could easily spend hours here – then we could walk off the calories by hopping onto the Beltline for a stroll.

Morning Coffee Date at East Pole Coffee Co.: the Chocolate Milk Drink is divine.

Dinner at St. Cecilia: Tucked away in what at first glance feels like an office building, I was lucky to accidentally stumble upon this restaurant on my 30th birthday. I highly recommend you try the Agnolotti.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my husband and children! They inspire me each and every day, and are so patient with me as I am obsessed with snapping their photos often.
