We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamesha Hodge-Holmes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamesha, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
When I first created my brand, I initially found it extremely difficult to juggle my work, school, and entrepreneur life. After putting in 8-9 hours triaging patients, to arrive home and study for another couple of hours…I was physically and mentally drained to put any energy into my brand. I was finally able to find a healthy balance between work, school, and growing my brand from the advice of several of my mentors. Through constant communication, they motivated me by holding me accountable on my entrepreneurial tasks and goals. By having an encouraging circle of positive energy, I was able to find and maintain that work life balance.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a healthcare professional, I can honestly admit that the road was not an easy one. I decided after 15+ years in the retail field, I felt I was in dire need of a career change. Fast forward a year later, and I was entering the Healthcare field at one of the busiest Urgent Care’s in Atlanta. From there I dabbled in Pediatrics for some time, before ending up in Adult/Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery. My patients have taught me the true definition of strength and humility, which are traits I have used growing my brand

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I was start the week off with a Sunday brunch at King of Diamonds! Judge me later, their food is amazing! Monday, we would spend the evening at Harold’s Chicken on Old National, listening to great music and enjoying the games. Tuesday we would catch the latest movie at Studio Movie Grill. Wednesday evening we would hit the downtown area and chill at Aroma Lounge. Thursday would be our day of relaxation before the weekend. Friday we would grab some dinner at Monkey 68, before heading to Cru Alpharetta. Saturday would include stopping by Bar Vegan for drinks and ending the night at Whiskey Mistress.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
