We had the good fortune of connecting with Jhalesa Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jhalesa, what do you attribute your success to?
I credit a lot of the success of my brand to my faith and the team I have supporting me. I am nothing without my faith and the favor that God has blessed me with. Also my family and friends have showed me endless support and motivation throughout our 4 years in business and I am forever grateful for all they’ve done for me from testing out products, providing honest feedback, investing in my business and motivating me to keep going despite any obstacles I may encounter.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets us apart is the quality of our products and how they actually work. I pride myself in overcoming the taboos in the feminine hygiene world when it comes to yeast infections, BV, and all other aspects of the vagina that weren’t discussed when growing up.

It was not easy starting a business from the ground up with no prior business experience, but my greatest lesson is that nothing worth having comes easy especially when you’re trying to build legacy and longevity. We’re building a brand that is going to last decades, I want my brand to be a household name so I must continue to be creative, open, and expand in all forms.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am not an Atlanta native, I was born and raised in Miami, FL but have come to love and appreciate the city of Atlanta for their culture, food, and diversity.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would most definitely have to shoutout my saltbaes, my family and my team. Without any of them, I’m not sure if my brand would be what it is today. I started my business with $27 in my savings and I borrowed $40 from my family and we’ve turned that into a multi-million dollar business. I appreciate the support I’ve received and even looking back to where I started, in my tiny one bedroom apartment, it’s still such a surreal realization to see how far we’ve come and how many lives we’ve been able to improve.
