We had the good fortune of connecting with Veeta Dinkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Veeta, how do you think about risk?
I think about taking risks as THE ONLY way to succeed at anything in life. How will I know if it will or won’t work if I don’t jump out there and do it? Is it scary? Heck yea? But it is also fun. What if my risks pay off? Then it is time to take another, another, and another…etc. I took a risk and joined the US Army at 16 years old…LOL! However, it was a risk I was willing to take for my free degrees, free medical, and free dental, and I will be taken care of for the rest of my life. Was it scary? Heck yea, but it was one of THE BEST risks I’ve taken thus far. It molded me into the person I am today. That played a massive role in my civilian life today ESPECIALLY being an entrepreneur. If it is something that I truly, in my heart, want to do, I am going to grind it out, risk THE MOST, and make it happen.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I think the thing that sets me apart in the nutrition and fitness space is that my professional career started in the US Army and got to get a plethora of experience and education average normal person can’t receive. The Army Medical Department (AMEDD) ensures that everyone knows their job through and through. Basic schooling alone consisted of schools on 2 different duty stations, the last part being almost a year. These were requirements to be awarded the job. After and during my tenure, my duty stations allowed me to experience the multi-faceted world of nutrition. I can now take all of that experience and knowledge to help people live better lives by understanding how much of a role nutrition plays in our day-to-day lives.

I am most proud of being able to do what I love daily. I wake up thinking of ways to spread the word about health! How many people can say they’re walking in their calling and doing what they LOVE? I get excited when I take on new clients because I REALLY get to know them and help them with their health & wellness journey!

Honestly, I got to where I am by being authentic and showing people that I care. I put out a lot of nutrition & fitness information on my social media platforms and through emails. Once most people see this, their interest usually peaked they ed, and reach out for coaching. It definitely was NOT easy getting here. Since there are MILLIONS of fad diets, weight loss gimmicks, and lies out there, when I spread the truth and educate on what actually works for weight/fat loss, it gets side-eyed. But just like anything, the truth always prevails.

I want the world to know that HEALTH is WEALTH! Not expensive cars or big houses…because if your health is poor, you will not be here to enjoy it.  I want the world to know that taking care of your body is not as hard as the world makes it seems. Start walking a few times a week, cycle, skate, etc. Find what you ENJOY, stay consistent, and those small changes will lead to significant results!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ha! I am a Leo to my heart…LOL! I LOVE LIFE! I LOVE PEOPLE! PLUS we love being the center of attention.

So, for a week, we will definitely be visiting the best day party spots, the best brunch spots, the best “exotic dance” clubs, and drop by Lenox for a little bougie shopping, all while staying at a bougie Airbnb in Buckhead.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Whew! So, first and foremost my supportive & loving husband. There has not been ONE millisecond that he has not supported me. I come up with some pretty crazy ideas and businesses throughout the years. Once I bring them to him, he ALWAYS plays the devil’s advocate and brings the other side of things I don’t think of. From there, it is either a yes or no..LOL! Between us, I rarely get a “no.”  While we were on active duty, he was there to assist with my promotions, work, going to school, etc. Now that we are civilians, he has not wavered one bit. On days I do not feel like “working” our businesses, he is always there saying, “It is ok to take a break.” Having him right alongside me being my rock, he gets all of the credit.
