We had the good fortune of connecting with Tracy Morrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tracy, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is my unwavering commitment to excellence! Over time, my team and I at A Pop of Color Staging & Design, have created a value in our intellectual property; a skillset that is truly God given. God has blessed me with the gift of seeing a finished product in a blank canvas, based on minimal client input. I have established a brand known for turning clients dreams into a one of kind reality.
Also contributing to the success of my brand is the awareness that the only thing constant is change. I am a forever student of ever changing design trends. I understand that I must stay ahead of the curve. My innovative technique and one of kind eye for client centric designs allow my skillset to constantly evolve thus, propelling my success as a brand and continual growth.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As an interior designer I have the opportunity to mix my creative gifts with the needs and desires of my clients. The initial consultation gives the ability to build a vision board based on what I heard my clients say they like or dislike about the space and combine it with what I envision for them.
What sets A Pop of Color Staging & Design apart from other designers is that no matter the color scheme a client chooses we are always able to add our signature Pop to the space to create a one of a kind design.
I’m most proud of the resilience, growth and creativity that I’ve seen in myself over the years. Building my own business and brand has not been easy. But, what helps to overcome the challenges is the extraordinary feeling of seeing the look of amazement on clients faces on reveal day. Knowing that I have made someone fall in love with a space again, reminds me of why I love what I do and makes me get up and do it all over again!
I want the world to know that I was just a little girl who loved helping my grandmother and mother decorate their homes. I loved looking through interior design and store catalogs that used to come in the mail. I always knew that I wanted own business but, I didn’t know what it would be. I always knew there was a gift inside of me that needed to come into fruition but, I didn’t know how to push it out. I want to encourage people, go after your dreams and desires. Don’t compare yourself to others because you only see their now but, at some point they had a beginning!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If one of my best friends was visiting the Atlanta, GA. area we would begin our day with brunch at Breakfast at Barney’s. Afterwards, we would enjoy a day at the spa and do a little shopping at Perimeter Mall or Phipps Plaza. We would end the evening with dinner at Houston’s and desert from Jenni’s.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I’m thankful to God for this amazing gift that he has given to me. He opens my eyes as I walk into each room to be able to envision the need of each client.
To my amazing husband, Saad Morrell, thank you for always supporting every vision that I have. You believe in me when I at times don’t believe in myself. I’m forever grateful to you my love!
To my coach, Dr. Stephanie Jennings, thank you for giving me the tools needed to propel me into destiny. Thank you for helping me to birth out the gifts within me. The Sistarhood Global Tribe movement that you created has been life changing and truly uplifting.
To my mentor, Shannon Smith, thank you for giving me fresh ideas on what to do next and holding me accountable as I continue to grow my business. Watching your continual growth from owning and operating multiple salons (ShaMari Hair Salon) to now opening your own Academy (Beauty 21 Academy), has been absolutely inspirational!
To my clients family and friends, thank you for your continual support and push. I couldn’t do it without you.
