Meet Nikki Lewis | Event Coordinator & Serial Entrepeneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikki Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nikki, what do you want your legacy to be?
That she never gave up. A lot of times entrepreneurs will have a rough patch and will be ready to throw the towel in. Not me. It took me two complete years to finally learn my low and peak seasons. On year 3 I launched a brand the catered to both. There was a point where I would be up 2-3 days straight just because I had a goal to reach. I was not about to let that hard work just disappear because I didn’t want to put the work in. Your brand will have those moments and its then when you find out if you really have what it takes. My motto, “Get it by any means necessary”

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others is my passion that I have for my brand. Being a coordinator is more than just designing it’s a craft. I’m a very creative person and enjoy the adrenaline rush that comes from it all. My clients know when it comes to them I`m all in, from the initial consultation up into the event itself.

I take pride in being the coordinator that not only listens and provides a remarkable experience but, also builds a relationship with my clients as well. I’m the person that’s up making sure your check list is complete at 3 am and sending inspirational messages to my clients because they think the entire process is overwhelming. Making sure I remember to do follow ups, thank you letters, send out holiday messages and even birthday gifts. When you engage with them often it becomes more personal and doesn’t just seem like you’re wanting their money. Doing this has not only gained repeat clientele, but awesome referrals.

Being a full-service planner was never easy in the beginning. Who wants to hire someone who has no portfolio? Exactly. I quickly had to learn how to network and show up for my brand even when I thought no one was looking. I started making balloons arches and planning random events across the city. Once word got out that it was me behind them, saw the attraction that it was getting everything else feel in place.

To every one brand you have, there are at least ten more like you in the same state, but what make you different? GliiterGirl is here to provide an experience and not just a service. No more running around trying to book photographers, locations, muas or whatever your particular event requires. Either way we have access to it all, just tell me what your dream is and watch it turn into reality. Your only requirement is to show up and enjoy your event, because that why you choose me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Now let’s see Birmingham has a nice selection of things to do.

Mondays we could go eat at Big E Grille he has the best loaded fries in the city, make sure you get the grilled shrimp added, you will not be disappointed.

Tuesday, we could to the walk the Vulcan. This is the best view in the city, once you get to the top it is truly breathtaking. Especially at sunset with some cookies from Insomnia, then we go get tacos from Des Chan at Birmingham Daquiris with a slushy

Wednesday, we shop, this is the day my favorite stores get the new shipment in. LOL yes I know this don’t judge me.

Thursday, we save all of your energy to TAPOUT THURSDAY at Magic City, good music, food and some of the best bartenders in the city

Friday, we can stroll through City Walk, get more food well cupcakes lol and wait for the lights to come one, I’m really big on scenery and yall this is one of the best things the city has thought of.

Saturday oh this is when we really shop hunny with the local business owners. We are buying clothes, accessories, candles and what every else we need Looks by NJM, Strapped, Hazelyn Wickd Scents, and whoever else got some for us.

Now Saturday night we outside, Upper Deck, TinRoof, Chasers and eventually the Palace Gentlemans Club for you guessed with more food. That whiting plate hit different after a few shots.

Sunday after service we going to brunch at Plush or 604 might be both if we got on the right shoes.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents, some people may say it, but I truly mean it. These two have supported anything that I’ve done, from being amazing parents and grandparents, they both are a part of my team in their own special way. My mom and daughter are the best assistants walking the earth. Now my father son duo they are the muscle behind the brand. They like to be refereed too as my logistics team lol. Without these them I really don’t know where my brand would be right now, I am beyond blessed.
