We had the good fortune of connecting with Noah Silver and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Noah, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
When I started my business, I had the idea that I would be able to run it as a whole with only success. I remember telling my father that I did not need any help with graphic design, customer service, accounting, etc. I believed I would be able to do it all on my own. The most important realization I had as a business owner was that I needed a team of people who had experience at the things I knew nothing about. If this realization never occurred to me, I would not have as large a platform and as prominent a brand. I would also be completely overwhelmed and lacking guidance. It takes a good entrepreneur to know that they cannot run a successful business solely by themselves.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is an online and bricks and mortar record store. I originally launched my business online, using Tiktok for marketing. Since then, I have been able to grow my follower count to 212,000. I think I was able to grow my business to where it now through a combination of my love for music and my marketing. It was difficult for me to deal with the huge amount of orders I had coming in at first, but I was able to hire a great team to handle the online orders.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I enjoy the more unorthodox activities in Macon. One of my favorite things to do in my town is to go up on the highest city roof with my friends and look at the city below.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My dad helped me quite a lot and never seemed to question my actions as I grew my business. As I grew my business, he helped me find the resources I needed to grow it even more. I also have my step-mother to thank for helping convince my dad that my original business plan was well founded. I also have Mercer University to thank for providing me a renovated storefront.
