We had the good fortune of connecting with Tony Omotayo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tony, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My company, the Atlanta Legends LLC. helps circulate and recirculate the Black Dollar in our own community by employing local business owners at every level of our organization. Each year we put at least $100 in 100 people’s pockets. That’s not including the LLC’s we purchase every year for aspiring Kid entrepreneurs. In addition, the staff we higher is 100 percent local. Everything we spend on our business goes directly to our community. Furthermore, we also, have networking events and social gatherings for local business owners.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Atlanta Legends LLC. is a fully integrated, ever-evolving machine. While basketball, is our epicenter, we are so much more than just a Professional Basketball team. We are home to the Legendnettes Spirit/Cheer Team and the Legendary Dolls Adult Majorette Dance Team. We have Flyer Queenz as our official graphic design team. And in October 2022, we will be introducing our Young Legends AAU teams. *We also offer Individual and Group Athletic Training

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I were taking someone through the city, hopefully a corporate sponsor, I’d want to take them on a totally organic (safe as possible) mashup of Atlanta. Day 1: 1st thing, go to Highland Bakery for breakfast then head to Apex Museum and the King Center and follow that up with lunch at Paschal’s. Then I’d pick up the perfect snack (Duck Donuts.) we’d walk the food off while touring State Farm Arena and taking pics. While we’re in a picture-taking mood we have to hit Jackson Street Bridge and Centennial Park. After that, we’d get drinks at Hudson Grille and go to Skyview and look at the skyline after nightfall. To close the night out I’d stop by Magic City and get an order of wings.

The next day we’d get Breakfast at Barney’s in the a.m., If you’re feeling like a true tourist The College Football Hall of Fame World of Coke. For late lunch we’d go to literally any restaurant known as the Mexican for Taco Tuesdays. Honestly, you probably won’t remember much after you order your food. The next day would start with a cup of coffee from BUZZ Coffee and Winehouse & a moment to unwind at Cascade Springs Nature Reserve. After a late breakfast at Beautiful’s the rest of the day would include a trip through the West and SW parts of the city from Grove Park to Campbellton and grab lunch at the Wing Depot (Ben Hill location). After lunch I’d take my tour further south from Camp Creek Marketplace to Old National Highway and get dinner from Big Daddy’s Dish. The next day would start at the Flying Biscuit and take us to Krog Street Tunnel, the Beltline and Piedmont Park. Since we’re in Atlanta, we’re gonna have wings again. Any American Deli will do. Later that day, we’d go to Puttshack (Howell Mill) and follow it up with an ice cream Cookie Sandwich from Cathy’s. After a nap, dinner would come with a vibe at Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint. Over the rest of the week we’d spend social time at the aquarium, Trap Museum, Selfie Museum, and the Civil Rights Center. Breakfast the rest of the week would consist of Thumbs Up, Flying Biscuit and D’usse on Day 7. Dinner on the last night is none other than Busy Bee’s. The other nights would be Mary Mac’s Tea Room & Hattie Marie’s

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to give credit to God for seeing me through my trials and tribulations. I’m insanely competitive and sometimes forget my own willpower and determination come from a greater source.

I have to give credit to my Lady for being a voice of reason when I need it and ignoring me when I need that too.

I have to shoutout my partner Jerell for the tutelage when I need it and the UBA for allowing me to purchase a franchise and create what is now the Atlanta Legends LLC.

Last I wanna thank my family from South Atlanta to Nigeria for the love and lessons.
