We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Lindsey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, how do you think about risk?
In my previous career, I held a leadership role within a Fortune 100 company for over 28 years. During that time, I had the honor and privilege to live in sereval parts of the United States. I took advantage of that valuable opportunity to align my personal values of community service with my corporate responsibilities.  When accessing risk, there would have been more certainty in staying under the umbrella of my previous employer. However, the risk of having done so would have meant limiting my passion to make a full contribution in the manner that I desired as a socially conscious and environmentally responsible entreprenuer.  Even during this Pandemic, I firmly believe that I am being rewarded for my decision to explore this path.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My former career was rooted in applying forward thinking solutions to resolve customer opportunities.  In regards to my current passion, creating and leading Ginger Yum, LLC, it is clear with consideration of today’s Pandemic that Ginger Yum was meant to exist.  I have always known that there was an even greater purpose for me in addition to being a wife, mother, grandmother, sibling, etc. What Ginger Yum has done is afforded us the opportunity to offer the general public a superior product that is affordable. Here is the key, we are deconstructing the premise that the best handcrafted natural body care products are unaffordable. My passion is realized each time I receive customer compliments on the pleasant aroma, its balanced tones and most critically the indisputable contributions Ginger offers as a natural option both internally and externally.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta has a southern eclectic personality. We are blessed to have diverse communities with each offering a positive experience. I’d suggest to check out the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, Little Five Points, East Atlanta Village, West End Atlanta, Drake Field in Peachtree City and end with a trip to Hapeville, GA, don’t forget to stop at Beer Girl.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In keeping it “True to the Root”, this Shout Out is dedicated to my grandfather and grandmother (T.C. & Annie McGee). They raised me to be the woman I am today. Proverbs teaches us to train up a child in the way they should go; even when they are old they will not depart from it.  I am Blessed.  Full Stop!
