We had the good fortune of connecting with Angelica Barnum and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angelica, what do you attribute your success to?
My family…. Being able to become successful and have a known brand to continue on in a legacy or family business. Giving my family a head start on owning a business and being able to work for yourself. The authenticity of having a great business with excellent customer service no matter what!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m most proud of how I continued to press throughout starting a businesss with being a single parent. I invested in myself. I worked jobs nobody else liked and worked a lot of overtime to help create a business for me and my family. It was not easy at all. I got frustrated I stopped a couple times only cause life’s hits you with bills and unexpected things. I prayed to God and said if you help me see or get through this where I can breathe and focus solely on a business I promise I won’t let you down. The lessons I learned was when starting a business your friends and family are not going to be your biggest supporter it was strangers!!! I want the world to know that I’m not perfect in any form or fashion but I know if you continue to hustle and be loyal and committed to your business than you will be successful. I’m not exactly where I want to be yet but I’m close!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Newnan… Ashley park to get some retail therapy. It’s an outdoor outlet shopping center. Longhorns for dinner and drinks.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank God for giving me strength as a single mother business owner to keep pushing towards my success. And also my kids… I had them at a early age so it was always me in mommy mode as a teen mother not being able to hang out as much as peers but in the end my kids are the one that made me push through even harder. So that we wasn’t going to be the average single family. We deserved and required and conquered so much more.
