Meet Camille Gonzales | Real Estate Broker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Camille Gonzales and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Camille, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have loved real estate since I was a child! I have been in real estate in some capacity since I was 18 years old. I worked for a foreclosure law firm at the age of 18 and purchased my first investment home at 21 years old while still in college. After purchasing my home I decided to switch my major to real estate and obtain my real estate license. After college, I worked for several large real estate corporate divisions and gained as much knowledge as I could. While working in corporate, I simultaneously worked for a large independent broker for 10 years. I always knew that at some point I would want my name to shine all on its own under my own Brokerage. I had a natural passion for real estate. Shortly after meeting and marrying my amazing husband we started a family. At this point, I knew I wanted to build something that I could say was not only mine but ours. A family business. My husband was very supportive and obtained his real estate license before our first son was born to help me in the business. Owning and growing my brokerage has been one of the highlights of my career! Having my own business is extremely rewarding!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am proud to be one of the few black owned, female owned brokerages in Atlanta. My knowledge of almost every facet of real estate and my level of expertise sets me apart from most brokers. I have worked in real estate for over 2o years. My resume includes residential sales, commercial real estate, corporate real estate, investment, REO, short sales, property management, REITS, foreclosure, site acquisitions, and much more. I have been the President of several HOA’s and served on several boards. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from Georgia State University majoring in Real Estate and have studied almost every area of real estate, to include land development, appraisal and more. My client base is vast and diverse. I have many international and local buyers and investors. There is not much that I have not encountered when it comes to real estate. Throughout the years, I have made many contacts and connections along the way and can always find the answers. Even with over 2 decades of real estate experience, I am still constantly learning and seeking growth opportunities. Things change almost daily in our industry and it is important to stay up to date with those changes to stay relevant. A good broker is able to succeed in any market and can change and make adjustments when needed. The one constant is change and I have always been able to adjust my marketing and client base when markets turn and have managed to be successful even in the worst of times.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When family comes to town I like to take them to several of my favorite hot spots. We would of course have to visit downtown and check out the Aquarium and the Coca-Cola factory. Atlanta staples. We would also visit the Martin Luther King Center and the High Museum. I would definitely take them to Fellini’s off of Ponce for Pizza and El Azteca in Buckhead (Best Margaritas). We would probably dine at the Sundial at the Westin Hotel one night or get a massage at Spa Sydell. For a weekend of fun, we would see a Braves game or Falcons game depending on the season and spend a Saturday or Sunday at the Battery checking out restaurants and dancing the night away.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to recognize my husband, Marland Briscoe, who has always been very supportive in my decisions. Not only is he an amazing husband and father. He is a dedicated firefighter and a staple in the community. We have both sacrificed a lot for the business and our family. I am not always able to be “present” as many times I am working in or on the business. Although I work mostly from home, I stay busy with clients and I am always working and multitasking. Marland has helped me raise 2 beautiful sons, 7 and 4. He has been my backbone when I was the caretaker for my mother who recently passed of Alzheimers and my father who currently has dementia. Through it all, he has stepped in when needed and has been supportive. I would not be able to do it without him. I am truly blessed to have such a great partner! He is my very own hero!
