We had the good fortune of connecting with Sierra Bizzell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sierra, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My husband and I struggled with secondary infertility for 7 years after the birth of our oldest daughter. Secondary infertility is the inability to conceive after having a child.

For 7 years I blamed myself, felt as if my body was broken, and I sought answers from medical professionals that would not listen to me.
I was depressed.
I felt alone.
I was tired of crying.

When I realized that I couldn’t get the help that I needed, I decided to help myself.
I took matters into my own hands.
I researched.
I took trainings.
I got certifications.
I changed my lifestyle and got rid of my fibroid, a breast cyst, an ovarian cyst, and regulated my menstrual cycle.
I learned to advocate for myself by first becoming a birth and fertility doula.
I also found a doctor who would listen and got the answers that I needed.
Then I studied to become a board certified health coach.
Now I teach other people to do the same thing!
My thought process is that no one can advocate for you like you can and no one will value your womb health more than you do.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is different because it was birthed out of my own pain and experience. Getting to this point was not easy because it came with so many trials and challenges. I never had another baby (by choice) and I hope to show the world that fertility journeys can end in healing with or without a baby. A lot of people feel sorry for me because of this, but I birthed a business that is changing lives all over the world.

The lesson that I learned along the way has been my slogan, “My worth is NOT tied to my womb, but it is the legacy that I leave behind in fulfilling my purpose.”

My brand is one of hope and it will change the way that the world thinks about womb health and fertility. Black people are 2 times more likely to be infertile and our stories need to be heard and we need to know that healing is possible.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am more of a homebody, but we would take a walk on a nature trail, eat some healthy food at a spot called Cava, drink some delicious smoothies at Tropical Smoothie Cafe, and head back home or to a hotel to relax.

In my opinion the nature trails are so beautiful! Take a walk at Country Park!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband encouraged me and he always supported me on my journey to wellness.

I would also like to thank Heather Rodriguez for showing me that wellness was possible!
