We had the good fortune of connecting with Meadow Minnae and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Meadow, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
One of the most important lessons my business has taught me is that you have to be your #1 cheerleader through and through. When other people won’t support you, cheer you on or assist you in finding resources, you have to do it for yourself. Growing up, I thought everything was a team effort and I would always have people in my corner but that couldn’t be further from the truth. When you’re alone with your thoughts, no one can pull you out or encourage you to keep going if you don’t have that determination inside of you. Everyone won’t see the vision you have for yourself, which is why it’s important to stay the course. Rome wasn’t built in a day, so don’t expect your legacy to.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a content creator for YouTube and I love it. I’ve wanted to do it since my sophomore year of high school but I didn’t believe I could do it until recently. What sets me apart from others is being true to myself and what I believe in. I highlight the randomness of my personality and the reality of being a college student working a full-time job while doing YouTube. It wasn’t easy developing a confidence in myself because the lack of support made me believe I wasn’t good enough, but I had to face my fear of failure and go for it. A lot of people, myself included, tell ourselves we can’t or we’re not enough for an opportunity when we might succeed. Telling yourself no will always close the door on opportunities that could change your life. If I had to let the world know anything about me, it’s that I do this for the outcasts. For the people that weren’t accepted, neglected, or looked over because you didn’t fit in a box. I do it for the people that struggle with mental health issues, the people who carry the weight of the world on their shoulders and the people that struggle to find their motivation. You will find your wings and find a balance in this crazy world, I promise.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my friends came in town for a week-long trip, I’m definitely taking them to Little Five Points. Being there feels like a second home because the streets are littered with creatives and artists taking a chance on themselves. There a music shop there called Moods Music that has an unmatched energy every time I go. I’d also take them to Slutty Vegan because did you really visit Atlanta if you didn’t go to Slutty Vegan?? Then we’d hit Atlanta Botanical Garden for the views and the APEX museum for a true cultural experience. Atlanta has so many hidden gems that I’m determined to visit and uncover in my lifetime. There’s the VitaminLady on Auburn Ave, PlantHouse in Decatur, and Tassili’s Raw Reality on Ralph David Abernathy.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout would definitely be to my mom. She inspires me to want more for myself and keep grinding until I get the life I deserve; the life we deserve. However, I wouldn’t be who I am without my niece. She’s like my built-in best friend and I don’t know where I’d be without her. Outside of them, I’d shout out my friends who supported me along the way and my therapist. She kept me sane when I felt the opposite.
