Meet Terrance Simpson | Entrepreneur/Artist/Curator/Public Speaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Terrance Simpson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Terrance, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process was to create a legacy for the unheard, unseen entrepreneurs and creatives in Nashville. To be the intersection for likeminded individuals who may feel like the underdog.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a cashless boutique that gives entrepreneurs and visual artist the opportunity to rent wall space monthly. They keep 100% profit, access to 8 events within the month of them being in the store and get the chance to host their own event.

I’m most proud of the fact that we built something organic from the ground up with little to no resources. We stuck with it and showered PerSeVerance through trying times.

Of course it wasn’t easy, but it definitely has been worth it if struggle that we’ve endured.

I’ve learned that work respects work. Ideas are cool. Conversation are cool as well. But the execution is where the magic lies. It’s an opportunity to get it right (or wrong) and creates a blueprint to read from to make the next idea even better once it’s executed.

I want the world to know that The PSV Store is a safe creative hub for ALL kinds of artist and entrepreneurs. We are a judgement free establishment that only requires you to spread PlusSignVibez when entering and existing the establishment.

I want the world to know that my mission in life is to be a representative of PerSeVerance. No matter what they obstacle may be, or what a person has been through, they have a place where they can come to for inspiration and create from a blank canvas.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well first off they’d have to stop by The PSV Store. Grab some cool art or shop from some of the maxing businesses that we have inside of the store. Next would definitely be the CE gallery owned by my brother. The most diverse, eclectic spot in the city in my opinion. They’d definitely have to go to a Foxy Brown event as well. It’s a great place to dance like no ones looking.
For some upscale vibez I’d take them to EG&Mc. Super classy sexy environment that always has some cool young black professionals in attendance.
I’d also take them to Plane Jane to grab a smooth cocktail. That place is a vibe for sure!
We’d have to eat some Slim & Husky’s pizza for sure. Everything black owned of course.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to send a shout out to all the amazing black women who have continued to invest in themselves, The PSV Store, and myself to execute their vision time and time again.

There’s SO many women who embrace our mission and help to to bring awareness to what we are all about. “Peers Supporting Victories”. For that I’m forever appreciative and in debt to them for the unwavering support that they always show us.
