We had the good fortune of connecting with Levi Ransom and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Levi, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always been a very creative thinker since I was young. I would write fiction stories for my classmates throughout grade school & I loved it. Music on the other hand has been the biggest part of my life ever since I could remember. I get asked from time to time “if music wasn’t apart of your life, what would you do?” The answer to that question gets a little tricky because thankfully I’ve been able to learn so many things inside the expansive field of music, that for example, if one of the tree limbs fell off, I’d be able to use another to grow other leaves. With knowing how to play several instruments, singing, songwriting, producing & everything in that area, I’ve been lucky to keep expanding my knowledge in the music field and not just focusing on one thing. It’s honestly become a part of my DNA and I’m very thankful for the talents I’ve been blessed with.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The great thing about Atlanta, is that it’s a big music city. Anywhere you go there’s bound to be live music somewhere & when I’m not performing I love going to see shows. I’d probably take my friend to a show, go browse through a couple record stores, go hunting for Funko POPs (my not-so-guilty pleasure) and chow down on some Chick Fil A.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family of course are my biggest supporters, encouragers and fan base. They cheer me on through every endeavor, both big & small, and I’m thankful to have such a tight group of people like that. My dad passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2014, and he is the biggest reason I do what I do. He put in every effort to make sure my music career was jump started from the beginning before he passed, and he will always be who I do this for. He was my hero, and I hope to honor him in everything I do.
