Meet Ashley Street | Boutique Owner, Speaker, & Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Street and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want my legacy to be great. My desire is for people to remember me as a go-getter. A woman that carried many hats with grace. A trailblazer for those that have come after me. A person that was never afraid to take risks. A person that has tried what has never been done before in her family. A woman of great strength, courage, and fearlessness. A God-fearing woman that did not do anything without prayer. A woman that loved family and would do anything for them. I want people to remember my big heart. I want people to remember all the people around the world that have been impacted by business ethics, my experiences, my words of wisdom and my expertise. A woman that did not strive to be the perfect wife and mother but a woman that strived to be a committed wife and mother. A woman that was faithful, loyal, and true.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is ModishHer Boutique. Simple. Stylish. Chic. My clothing is geared toward women from all walks of life. Often it is difficult to find trendy clothing that is still modest and fashionable. My online clothing boutique aids women in finding clothes for their next speaking engagement by going on date night. I am proud when I get testimonials from women that don’t have any fashion sense or lost their security with their beauty tell me how wearing my pieces made them feel good about themselves from the inside out. I got to where I am today with a lot of consistency. No, it has not been easy at all. I have those moments where I want to give up and then I remember my why. I overcome bad days and challenges by remembering my good days. I focus on the future and not so much of the present. I don’t rely on motivation, I rely on vision. Some lessons I have learned along the way is that you cannot be afraid of rejection. People buy you before they buy your product or service. You must believe in what you’re selling. Don’t be in it for the money. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always wanted to see women as their best selves. Your clothing is a part of who you are. Your garments tell a story. Being able to help women find their style gives me life. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the transformation of a woman through clothes.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Here in Phoenix AZ, the hole in the rock is a must see. It was a great place to see the city views and take great pictures. South mountain driving 20 minutes up the mountain overlooking downtown phoenix is breathtaking. Lolo’s Chicken and Waffles is a must. You must order the red Kool aid. Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall. Shopping is a must. Driving to celebrity homes in north Scottsdale. In N Out burger on the way to the airport. Dutch Bros coffee every single day.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout my late grandmother Bernice Green. She inspired and encouraged me since I can remember. I watched her take care of her household, be a woman of prayer, and a businesswoman. She always carried herself with much class and grace. She was a lady of great elegance. Her passing in 2020, motivated me to launch my boutique in 2021. I had the business plan 3 years prior. But the legacy she left pushed me to finish what I started. To take what she did to the next level. My wonderful husband, my 3 amazing children, and my beautiful mom are my biggest supporters. They have all encouraged and pushed me to be great.
