We had the good fortune of connecting with Rochelle Mason and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rochelle, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I believe that being able to take risks is vital to becoming a leader in your own life and any other arena. Taking risks requires letting go of the illusion of control and letting go of fear.

One of the most significant risks I’ve taken in my life was leaving my comfortable job with a very stable company to become an author and start my own business. The decision to leave what was comfortable and familiar was the scariest and most nerve-wracking thing I have ever done, but it has also been the most liberating. I have grown so much in the last few years after taking the leap toward fulfilling my dreams, and it has helped me trust God more than I ever dreamed I could.

Another part of this wild ride was writing and publishing my first book, entitled The Seek Challenge. The book entails how and why I started taking these risks. It’s also a 21-day devotional to help others take the leap into following God’s plan for their lives and embarking on a fantastic adventure with Him. In my opinion, although it is a challenge, there is no better way to live. I’m not saying anyone should do precisely what I did, but I am saying that following God’s plan, which is usually the road less traveled, is the most exciting and most successful way to go.

What should our readers know about your business?
The name of my business is The Accomplish Group, Inc. I specialize in helping companies and ministries start and improve processes and structures so they can excel. I like to refer to my team as business/ministry architects. One thing that makes us stand out is that we also focus on the entrepreneur or minister and their personal well-being. Leading an organization is complex, and along with being mentally exhausting, it can also be emotionally and spiritually taxing on the person doing the work. We seek to build them through coaching and pastoral care as well. Because I have so much experience in business and ministry, I truly understand what they are going through, and I have a unique ability to help. Plus, it is no mistake that my last name is Mason, so building people and organizations is a part of my makeup.

Services we offer:
– Business/Ministry Consulting
– Business Plan Development
– Incorporation Formation
– Non-Profit Formation

– Social Media Consulting
– Marketing/PR Consulting

Before I started the company, I knew even at a young age that I wanted to be an entrepreneur, and after working in different roles, I could never get it off my mind. I got a friend to hold me accountable, and I incorporated the business and started building from there. It was not easy, but having positive people who are also risk-takers makes all the difference. Lots of prayer and doing what I felt God was leading me to do opened doors for my business that I could never kick down on my own. One of the significant lessons I’ve learned is to pray often and trust God. Starting a business takes faith because there are no guarantees regarding a paycheck, but know that God is a provider, and if you invite Him in, He will bring customers your way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I were showing someone around town, I would take them to the Fox Theater to enjoy a play or concert. It is such a wonderful and historical gem in Atlanta. Also, Atlanta Fish Market is a fabulous place to go if you like seafood. They have some of the best salmon I have ever tasted!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
So many people have contributed to the success I have obtained so far, but I would like to acknowledge a few. Along with wonderfully supportive family and friends, my Church, World Changers Church in College Park, GA, and its many exceptional leaders were a blessing to me in ways that I can never repay. Additionally, my Master’s Program and the Professors of Richmont Graduate University were everything I needed to excel to the next level in my relationship with God, ministry, and career.

Mentorship is another vital part of what helps us become all that we can and provide the needed courage to take risks, and I have a few that have been tremendous blessings to me. My first mentors were Pastors Archie and Melissa Collins of World Changers Church Houston. They were also my youth Pastors and have been a source of love, comfort, and friendship ever since. My mentor, Dr. Monica Hill of Hill & Associates Counseling, is a living blueprint for me because, over the years, she has invited me into her life’s work to see what it takes to live the impactful life I dreamed about. Lastly, my mentor and friend, Pastor Tonya Hutchings of Salt Community Worship Center/Ministers in Training Program. Pastor Tonya has been such an inspiration to me and the person that helped to step into what I was born to do fully. These wonderful people and these organizations have sown such love, time, and mentorship into my life, and their influence has been absolutely life-changing. I am eternally grateful that God brought them and many others into my life.
