We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Stroh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kimberly, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The biggest lesson my business has taught me is to take it seriously from the beginning. Don’t waste any time second guessing yourself. You want laser sharp focus, even if you’re the only one who believes in your goals. It’s true that time is money and every day that you waste could’ve been a step in the right direction.
What should our readers know about your business?
Laying the foundation for Savvy Mama Lifestyle, and creating a brand geared towards moms, was a slow process. For every successful blog that’s making a decent income, there’s thousands that have failed. Online businesses are a dime a dozen nowadays.
That can lead to frustration when your business doesn’t immediately take off. There were many times that I had to prevent burn out along the way. When I finally got a little taste of success and recognition, it became addicting. That’s the feeling I held onto and used as motivation.
Today, Savvy Mama Lifestyle attracts over 100k monthly visitors and we’re still growing. I’ve got a team of virtual assistants to help me juggle my business and I’m setting my eyes on launching a product for the first time this year.
Yet, no matter how much I grow my site, I want it to be relatable. The foundation will always be easy tips, solutions and ideas to help busy families navigate life.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to show guests something unique to the city of Atlanta – something that makes us quirky – like the Tiny Doors ATL! Cruise around the city on the hunt for Atlanta’s tiny doors and you’ll see the best we have to offer.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My biggest supporters have always been the female entrepreneurs who paved the path before me. There have been so many along my journey that offered guidance in some way. When you’re starting your own business, even the smallest pieces of advice that help out. That has inspired me to pay it forward. Today, I try to offer help to other women who are starting their own businesses. You never know when your paths will cross again.
