We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Vitovich and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michael, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Determination is one of those important factors that you really need, out of that and failure you gain the grit to overcome. I have failed far more than I have succeeded but the idea is you have one moment at a time and one day at a time and you just have to keep pushing to make progress towards your goal. For me, it has been diversifying my skills into various areas of interest. In the area of Two Ravens Consulting, I perform specialized techniques for examination and recovery of post mortem needs for cadavers.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
After a failure I was taking inventory of my strengths and weaknesses and began a very honest self-reflection about what my life could be like and what I wanted to accomplish before dying because after having a career of 26 years in death, this is the mindset. I needed to figure out a way to have freedom to be able to control my own path. I started a medical legal consulting company called Two Ravens Consulting where I perform autopsies, case reviews, legal strategies and research recoveries. I am also an actor and comedian that you might have seen on Showtime, NBC, Lifetime Network and ID Network. I have even done music videos, commercials, stand-up comedy and theater. This has been a great outlet to express myself from the stress of working with death and dying all these years. The reality of it is I have found a healthy balance that any project that is in front of me has my total and obsessive focus. I have figured out how I work best and most efficiently with the passion and commitment that I have.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would go out for a nice lunch probably stop at the Eight sushi lounge then enjoy one of the finest aquariums in any city I’ve ever seen at the Georgia aquarium. We could walk and talk as we saw the city and then finish up with some drinks and appetizers at Pappasitos. Friends having time to catch up and time to see the world that I live in is important to me.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a shout out to the Cleveland, Ohio film community and other small communities around the United States. The support and the belief of a dream, of telling one’s story through acting, writing, directing and making their stories come alive is very important to me. I really am grateful for the opportunity to be in a smaller off market and finally pushing ahead chasing my dreams in a bigger market. Creating and supporting communities is very important to push forward.
