We had the good fortune of connecting with Justine Mattox and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Justine, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important lesson I’ve learned in business is to appreciate every single step. Entrepreneurship is hard. There are so many ups and downs. In the up’s you have to celebrate! I’ve found that we as entrepreneurs put so much pressure on ourselves to always be creating, building, marketing, networking, etc that it becomes so easy to unintentionally overlook our accomplishments, big or small. While it’s great to aspire for more, each small step should also be considered an accomplishment. In the hard moments when it seems like nothing is going your way, I’ve found the best thing I can do is keep pushing. Keep pushing knowing that you are capable of solving any problem put in front of you and that each “failure” is only moving you closer to success.
What should our readers know about your business?
Gldn Theory Creative Company is a Branding and Social Media agency designed to help women-owned businesses show up boldly and authentically online. I have always been a very visual person and what sets me apart is the ability to connect with an audience through attractive visuals and a cohesive strategy. I want to help more women-owned businesses be unique, bold, and confident in their brand messaging throughout their digital marketing. I love that we’re living in an age where women running their own businesses are all around us. I am so inspired by my clients and I’m so excited to help more women shine!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many fun and exciting places to check out in Atlanta. I’m always so inspired by art and design so I love taking a trip to the High Museum of Art to check out the latest exhibits. On a beautiful Atlanta day, there is nothing better than getting food at either Ponce City Market or Krog Street Market and taking a stroll on the Beltline. I love to enjoy good food, drinks, and friends at The Garden Room, my favorite girls’ night destination.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom deserves a lot of credit for encouraging me and supporting me even when was entrepreneurial journey wasn’t easy or conventional. It makes the biggest difference when you have people in your corner cheering for your success. I am also so grateful I joined a business coaching group called Trove Social Academy. The group has not only inspired me but has provided me with so much knowledge and information that has helped my business in so many ways
