We had the good fortune of connecting with Tony Moss and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tony, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from Newnan Georgia. My background and upbringing made a huge impact on who I am today. I grew up living in the projects, on welfare, to being raised by my grandmother. She was a sweet and giving person but big on discipline. She raised me to love, to care, and to be a giver. She passed away in 1989, however, her words still resonate within me today. I feel as if God put me in a position to be successful and able to provide for my family and others; why not do that? I truly found my purpose in life; that purpose is to provide for others when they can’t provide for themselves. I’ve been blessed with a group of ladies who share the same heart condition as me and that is being a giver.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Conditioned Hearts is a community outreach foundation that is geared towards attacking the needs of the community such as hunger, homelessness, education, domestic violence, etc. The only obstacle that I had (but it wasn’t a challenge) is getting people to buy into what I wanted to do. I thank God for introducing me to some amazing women who share the same goal as me…and I’d like to state their names: Tiffany Moss, Kim Mitchell Bell, Tiffany Geter-Barker, Keesha Willingham, LaRhonda Guy, Carletha Geter, Kenya Brantley, and Lois Mitchell. I could not have done it without these ladies. These ladies helped me create ideas on how to make a bigger impact and I greatly appreciate them for that. What I want the world to know about me is I’m all about blessing others and leaving an everlasting image of me in the minds of people; in hopes they will someday help somebody as well. I don’t do what I do for likes or praises. I do it because one day I wanna see my grandma and hear her say, “job well done grandson.”
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friends were visiting me I would definitely start out by taking them to Fins and Feather for food and drinks. Secondly, I would take them to some of my favorite shoe stores to shop because I’m a shoe freak. Lastly I would introduce them to my Masonic brothers because they have had a great impact on my life as well. I will definitely show them a day in my life by doing some charity work and giving back to the community.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wanna thank my Grandmother who is no longer with me. Thank her for instilling in me love and values within the short amount of time I had with her. I also would like to thank my dad (Walter Moss) for showing me the true definition of hard work and strong work ethics.
