We had the good fortune of connecting with Zyan Hightower and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zyan, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
The best decision I ever made was learning to do everything Independently! I learned everything one by one instead of trying to go through a manufacture or any type of business service, I turned myself into a manufacture & a service by buying all machinery and tools to create such production. It took a lot of long nights and countless days learning these skills but at the end it was worth it because I can do everything on my own, exactly the way I wanted it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When it comes to art my creativity is what stands out! I create all of my artwork for my brand but the art comes from my heart. They all explain something if you was to see the details, I treat art as music like expressing my feelings, thoughts & messages but through my art. I’m proud that I was able to learn how to express myself in a different way & be able to create the images myself. Learning how to make graphics and format them correctly was a struggle but I never gave up. I started trying to create graphics when I was 11 years old, I used different apps and softwares growing up trying to get better & overtime with all the knowledge I gained constantly trying, I was able to create my own artwork. Consistency is what helped me the most nothing was easy at all but never giving up always work out in the end & taking risks! A lot of the things I accomplished I had no idea I could do or was not confident enough to do, So putting my pride to the side and doing these things I felt like I needed to do payed off if not instantly, in due time it did. I learned a lot being independent, it’s always going be bumps in the road no matter which route you take it’s about keeping the steering wheel straight you know, and by that I mean not letting nothing stop you from getting where you wanna be. family and friends won’t always be there the way you need them to be and sometimes they can’t see what you may see. so focusing on the goal is what’s important because only yourself knows what it takes to get there. The impact I want on the world is knowing that I was different & my brand and by different I mean authentic in my own way! it’s a lot of copy this copy that type people in the world we live in but I don’t want to be categorized as someone who just did something because they did it or anything like that. I was myself at all times I never changed due to no circumstance & I show love to each and all i’m just one of them ones.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well being from atlanta everybody know we got top tier restaurants! Located all around the city so eating food would definitely be number one & im not a picky eater so I’m down to try something different all the time. A lot of my friends like to drink and club so being in atlanta is definitely a plus with that because we have some of the best bars & clubs to visit while in town, i’m not much of a drinker or do party’s but every blue moon you may see me. I hang out a lot with other artists so majority of my hang out spots would be a studio or loft/house where we could network and handle business if needed. Being in atlanta there is all sorts of entertainment & amusement parks for fun. If on social media there is A lot of personal chefs that cook really good food and great foods spots locally so eating is never a problem!

Honestly, I want to thank everybody my family, friends & supporters they all played a important role in my life equally helping me create this dream supporting me in the smallest or biggest way. All the support kept me going just seeing other people reactions & also see people wear/buy my clothing is a feeling you just can’t explain. Knowing that people love my brand and spend their hard earns with me is what keeps me going & achieving the milestones I dreamed of reaching.
