Meet Arie King | Content Creator & Football Fanatic

We had the good fortune of connecting with Arie King and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Arie, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Since I was a kid, I’ve always been one to take risk and go against “the norm”. Part of this is because I am such a head-strong person and the other part is because I’m slight a brat. I believe I can have the things in life that I desire. I always think about what I could miss out on by not taking the risk and then I go for it. I grew up in a family that encouraged going to college and getting a career. I’ve been out of college now for a while and my biggest regret is not following my heart and getting my degree in broadcast journalism. My degrees are in criminal justice, yet my passions and personality pull me towards sports media and sports relations. I can remember when I initially talked about wanting to switch field, my mother suggested I go back to school and get another degree. I debated back and forth with the idea, until I decided to try creating content on my own. I can admit I was afraid. I had always been a private person, using social media to connect with close friends and family. I was opening my life up for the public. I asked myself, “what if my content isn’t good enough” or what if they don’t like me?”. I then answered myself by saying “but what if they do?”. From there everything seemed to take off. I think it’s because my heart is in it. I truly love football and connecting with other. Thus, how my brand began and what keeps me going is knowing that I am proactively working toward my fulfilling my dreams. I know that with risk taking comes the possibility of failure, but to me I rather take the risk and fail then to not and always think of the what if. Social media has really allowed me to network and make connections with people with shared interests. I’ve been networking like crazy and I’ve realized that the worst thing that could happen is hearing “NO”, I now get to travel and go to football games, vlog, take cute pics, and create amazing content.Taking one risk can truly change your life. So, take that risk.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I went to college and studied criminal justice. I really thought I was going to be the real life Olivia Benson. I went back and forth picking a major because I really want to do broadcast journalism, but the internship I wanted was not available and I wanted to hurry up and graduate so, I switched my major back to criminal justice and completed an internship at the federal court. I ended up also getting getting my masters degree in criminal behavior.

It’s crazy to even think of myself as a creative. If you had asked me a few years ago, I would’ve swore up and down that I wasn’t creative at all.. I launched my initial podcast Peace Love Arie “the podcast” in July 2020. It was during the pandemic that I was able to sit back and focus on my purpose. I have always been the person that people look to for positivity. Some may say that I live in a delusional world because I am always so HAPPY. It’s not that I am delusional, but I have been blessed to overcome many obstacles that should’ve broken me. This is why I have made it my mission in life to use my voice to spread Peace and Love to others. I’m sure you’re wondering, how football ties into this mission. Let me explain. I fell in love with the sport while I was in high school. I have always had a deep connection with the sport, but more importantly the players on and off the field. I want to know the stories behind the name on the jersey. During the pandemic, I realized I could use my passions to fulfill my purpose. So, I merged it all together and here we are. I now use my platforms to provide football updates, travel and game day vlogs, maybe a funny dance or two, while always spreading Peace and Love. I had always joked about being Football Bae, but now others know that I am Football Bae.

I got into making videos as a result of a friend telling me how good I was at making football predictions. My friend told me that he didn’t know anyone that loved football more than me. The next day was football Sunday and I gave it a try. I used my phone and tried using a green screen. I had no clue what I was doing at all. I posted it and here’s the funny part… I ended up getting flagged on Instagram for posting so many times in one day. From there, my road to content creating began. At this time, I didn’t know anyone else who did such a thing, so It was pretty much trial and error. I can still remember spending hours trying to record one minute long video and then spending more hours trying to edit it. It was definitely a process, but with time it got easier. I learned tricks to use for shooting and editing. I also more about how the algorithms work. I began to build my own online community and was able to connect with people with shared interest. I love it. The biggest lesson I’ve learned during this whole process is to do what you love. They say when you follow your passions you will find your purpose. This couldn’t be more true for me. This is only the beginning. I look forward to seeing what all is to come in the future for my brand Peace Love (And) You, LLC.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love Atlanta. I always tell people they should visit if they haven’t. First stop would to be Slutty Vegan. The food is amazing. Atlanta has a lot of vegan spots, but Slutty Vegan is definitely my favorite. If its during football season, definitely go check out the Atlanta Falcons at Mercedes Benz Stadium. The Trap Museum is a fun place to visit for a little hip hop fun.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I must give a shout out to my followers on social media. I know it sounds silly, but I mean it when I say I wouldn’t be where I am without them. It is because of them that I have been able to grow my brand and do who what I love. I am beyond grateful to have them support me as they do. I know I tell them this all the time, but it’s the truth. Some of my closest creative friendships began on social media and I am grateful for that. I would also like to give a shout out to all of my friends and family, who have supported me in living my dream.
