We had the good fortune of connecting with Milos Collins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Milos, why did you pursue a creative career?
I started making my own music back in high school. At the time I was moving around a lot and was always the new kid, so adjusting was hard for me. Through these tough times I discovered my love for making music and the peace it brought me. Ever since then making music has been a therapeutic way to express myself and deal with my issues in life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My music is really just a reflection of my inner thoughts and the world as I see it. I like to think of it as my own dream world, where I can be anything I want and do anything I want. It’s freedom. I think since I make music as an emotional release it has become my escape from the world. So when I’m in my own world I can be the master of my fate and control my destiny. The message that I want to get across in my music is that it’s ok to be yourself, and to spread love. I want to inspire people to continue on the pursuit of happiness and give them the courage to keep going.

It wasn’t easy getting to where I am now, and I’m still not even close to being satisfied. I don’t know that I ever will be. I’m completely self taught in what I do. I produce, engineer, write and record the majority of my music. I never took any classes or had someone to mentor me in this game, so whenever I reach a milestone it’s a nice pat on the back, yet at the same time I’m always ready to get back to work. I’m always striving to reach the next peak.

There will always be bumps in the road on the path to getting to your goals. I find that it doesn’t really matter how many traffic jams and road blocks you come across, all that matters is that you’re able to get past each one. You just have to get up one more time than how many times you’ve been knocked down. If you can do that you can achieve anything you want.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was coming into town and I wanted to show them around some of my favorite spots the first would be my studio! In reality he has been there since day one of me building out my studio, but it’s my favorite place in the city. Besides that I’d take him to some of my favorites shops down in L5p, maybe grab some pizza at the local spot there, and then hit our favorite VR bar down by Ponce City Market!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my friends and family, especially my parents! They have always been super supportive of me throughout my music journey and I can’t thank them enough for that. I’d also like to shoutout my best friend Jay, for being the first person to hear my music and believe in it.
