We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexis, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
At Inneractions Therapy we value our client’s goals to achieve success in their social and emotional wellbeing. Our therapeutic approach is to use our client’s strengths and interests to create personal growth and powerful change. Depending on their strengths, interests and abilities, we may use approaches such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Play Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Dialectal Behavioral Therapy techniques. Our techniques are grounded in evidence-based practices and developed to meet each client’s needs. We utilize these approaches through discussions, art, technology, play, creative expressive therapy, therapeutic gaming, mindfulness, team challenges, and psychoeducation. Our goal is for our clients to leave with an understanding of themselves and the role they play in social situations. We want our clients to have a “tool box” filled with techniques and coping skills to use when needed, as well as effective ways to express themselves and manage the many stressors of life. We want to give them the tools to be successful, understand their actions and subsequent reactions, and give them the internal power to succeed.
We are an innovative team of therapists who are always listening, searching and developing ways to support our clients success and therefor, open to change. We are active participants within our community so that we understand at the local level what our clients are experiencing.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Inneractions Therapy opened its doors in July 2010 and has now grown to include two locations and ten creative and talented therapists! Our dream and passionate goals was to provide a safe and supportive environment filled with creative and innovative therapies focused on each individuals interest and personality. We understand that therapy is not a “one size fits all” and therefore, we work to listen to our clients to understand how best to serve them. Through this approach, we have studied, created and developed therapies engaged in gaming (role-play, video, board games, creative games), expressive arts, and we are always always searching for more!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, our Marietta location is very close to The Battery, where the Braves play. It’s always a lot of fun for shopping, food and of course Braves games! The Galleria, across from The Battery, often hosts great events like the animae convention and more. I also love the atlanta belt line, which you can travel along in many areas throughout Atlanta
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
