We had the good fortune of connecting with Earah Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Earah, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Well there are several reasons why I do what I do. TreatsPhoria Baked Goods and Sweets is almost 5 years in existence and I’ve had the gift of baking since I was 8 years old.  I noticed other gifts began to follow including God blessing me with love, kindness, patience, decorating skills, drawing and painting, and different ways to pivot in the baking business. Throughout my years of experience, God has allowed me to show good customer service through previous occupations, prayers, and serving others in various ways such as in churches or other places. Another major factor is I help others with whatever is going on in their lives at that time and sometimes even right after I’ve met them. It goes further than just cakes and cupcakes. Sometimes people need more and see something in me making them comfortable enough to open up to me and ask me to pray for them. They may disclose a personal situation and I do my best to help or refer someone else to them that may help if I am unable to do so. Recently clients with different dietary or health needs have requested me to bake cakes in various ways including sugar free, vegan, and vegetarian. These custom desserts have been a success. I’ve built relationships with many and hope to continue to do so. We need God, love and each other to make our lives function well on this earth.

What should our readers know about your business?
TreatsPhoria is a privately owned online bakery under the Georgia Food Cottage license offering contactless curbside pickup and delivery and exceptional customer service. We specialize in making euphoric artisan cakes. We are unique in everything that we make – it is GOOD! We use gourmet ingredients to create exceptional flavor and texture, and we spend the extra time necessary to perfect each piece before it leaves the kitchen.

Most of our clients are repeat customers and love their experiences with both us and their desserts. Once you have TreatsPhoria’s items you won’t find anyone like us!

I’m most excited every time we get an order (my heart does a happy dance!) and every time a Client lets me know that we’ve done a superb job by texting us their compliments and pictures!

How did I get to where I am today? It was with God’s guidance and the advice and help of my mentors and fellow baker colleagues, a few close friends and relatives. They all have helped me to be where I am today.

No, it was not easy. It took prayer, patience and just growing pains of handling the business each day to keep moving forward, even if I didn’t see immediate results. I’ve learned that good situations need time to grow.  If I can do it, anyone can if they use their determination to make it happen!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are soooo many places to visit here in Metropolitan Atlanta and suburbs. Go to Mercier Orchards in the North GA mountains to pick fresh fruit (or buy some of their fried pies and cherry apple cider!); DeKalb Farmers Market for the best fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and to see people worldwide (and go to their cafeteria and bakery); go see an HBCU marching band play; shop at Atlantic Station; and there’s many many more places I haven’t mentioned where you can experience this wonderful city. Oh and don’t forget to go to a cabin in the north Georgia mountains for some fresh air, Rest & Relaxation!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Oh that’s easy: first, God Almighty because He’s the one that gave me the gifts to even be able to do this and has been my main advisor before this business began; my mother Sarah and Grandpa E. P. Daniel Sr. for introducing me to different traditional methods of baking; my Dad and brother, Emery Daniel Jr. and Emery Daniel III, for having a serious conversation with me to pursue this as a business; and my mentors, the many relatives, coworkers and friends that encouraged me to start and continue this business over the years! There are so many people that I love and appreciate for contributing their part in this adventure.
