We had the good fortune of connecting with El Ryce and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi El, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
When I think about risk the only thing that comes to mind is “just do it”. Without risk there is no reward. Being the sole investor into my brand was very scary. To not know if my brand would succeed or fail while putting in my own money is risky. My only thought during that moment was bet on yourself if no one else does. Four years later that risk led to our streetwear being purchased all over the U.S.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I, as an individual, have always been different. I never wanted to wear what everyone else was wearing, but rather chose to create my own path. From adding patches to my sneakers or deconstructing my jeans, Ive always stood out.

So with our streetwear brand we kept the originality going. We make everyday pieces and off the wall pieces. You never know what designs we will come up with. There isn’t one theme we stick with because you can’t box in creativity. Our pieces are vibrant, and trendy which makes you do a double-take and that always makes a designer happy. We want to motivate others, mainly the youth, to keep being creative and dream bigger.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Im from Baltimore. Crabs and chicken boxes fuels our fire. The only place in the heart of the city to get that is Lexington Market. The aroma from the market alone makes me feel at home. Scooters are the best way to weave in and out of traffic to head downtown. That houses the Inner Harbor, Baltimore Aquarium and of course the Ravens Stadium (Go Ravens). The best places for night life would definitely be Mt. Vernon, Federal Hill and Fells Point. Bar hopping while walking through cobblestone streets will be the time of your life. We get bad press on Baltimore , but I wouldn’t trade my city for anything. I’d say come see for yourself.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
All of my credit and thanks goes to God. Ma, who has always been by my side, and all my friends and family that have supported me since day one. -Much Love
