We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer P. Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer P., how do you think about risk?
I think that taking risks is a necessary part of both growth and success. In order to change your circumstances, you have to get a little uncomfortable sometimes. That means stepping out of your comfort zone into the unknown.

Of course you should have a plan, but the risk is in execution of that plan when you are venturing into uncharted territory. It can be scary, but I don’t know of a successful entrepreneur that ever lived that didn’t get to where they got to without taking risks.

I certainly didn’t get to where I am without taking any risks. When I moved to Atlanta in 2015, I slept in my car for almost 3 months.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My company H2D Industries Entertainment is for all of media design. Everything from Film/Video, Music Production, Graphic Design, Animation and even Software Engineering,

As of right now, I’m most proud/excited about launching Punch on Roku. Punch is the new video-on-demand channel on Roku for short films of all genres and sub genres. I’m proud about this because it just kind of happened. I certainly never thought about owning a channel on Roku, but the opportunity presented itself and I took it. I’m looking forward to see how Punch grows over time.

H2D Industries has been with me for a very long time. I came up with the name and company back in 2002. It started as just a record label, and over time has expanded into other areas as my skills and resources increased.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way is that learning new skills is imperative. It doesn’t matter what field you are in. Always keep your skills (and resources) current!

I want the world to know that I’m here. Enjoy the ride!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely like to try to get a night in at the Apache. Maybe Tongue & Groove because it has a real nice atmosphere. Little 5 Points is one of my favorite spots even though it’s a small area.

Let me just say that I collect vinyl and I haven’t gotten any new wax in a while so hitting up every record store in Atlanta would be a thing.

Of course I love to eat, so I would find adventure in dining at spots that are new to both of us.

Other than that, there’s still a lot that Atlanta has to offer that I have yet to experience for myself. It would be an unforgettable week indeed.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to thank everyone who always supports my releases by purchasing, steaming, liking, sharing, etc! You know who you are! I love y’all!
