Meet Kiana “V.” Ware | Owner of BeWare Designs & Senior Project Manager

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiana “V.” Ware and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kiana “V.”, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
When I was a fresh undergrad I remember learning about risk factors and how the verse to risk was opportunity. That class changed my mindset on investments including those that involved my time investment, not just monetary investments. If I could evaluate every situation as an opportunity versus a risk, I could then weigh my options from a positive lense. That was the pivot point for my current path. When faced with career-change decisions I looked at them as opportunities to diversify my work experience. The risk? My resume would be “all over the place” or come off as “under-committed”. But the gains I received from taking those opportunities are the same ones that yielded six-figures before 21. I apply that same mentality to my personal business. If there’s a lot to lose, chances are there’s even more to gain.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an artist first, and I believe that should be evident in everything I do. Whether it be a painting, an excel workbook, or a renovation project. Art has no limit… and that’s what makes it so powerful. I think my goal in life is to impact and inspire as many people as I can by walking in my purpose and using my brand, my gift, and my talents to empower others. I want young future artists to look at my work and say, I can do that too. I want older artists to see my work ethic and fall in love with art all over again. If there’s one thing I’ve learned along the way it’s that your work is what you make it. If you go to work everyday hating what you do, then. you will always dread clocking in. But if you can start within yourself, change your mindset, the world will be much more beautiful.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Anytime I host a friend visiting town my itinerary starts and finishes with the food! If they’re flying in I recommend they stop at Ludacris’s restaurant Chicken + Beer and order the chicken and waffles, maybe grab a local beer flight or try the frośe out. Next we’re hitting Atlantic station for sure if it’s the holidays, the bridge leading to it, the Gates Memorial Museum, and the events they have in the yard are guaranteed selfie-destinations and hotspots for the Atlanta culture. When it’s time for a snack I gotta take them to the Varsity to show them the only reason people go is for the orange slushie, and if Tech has a game that day I might ride them through my Alma Mater and yell THWG out the window a few times. Nightlife is for the two P’s, Peachtree and Piedmont. Both of those streets are my go-to’s for the action. During pride month you’ll definitely find us at MSR or wherever Kia Comedy is hosting because that woman stays plugged into the community night-life. Iron Age off pleasant hill is my favorite place to divulge if they don’t mind getting their hands dirty, then Flying Biscuit in the morning for sure! The centennial area and SkyView are good for a chill day in the summer and I’m always scouting out for a King Pops stand when passing through the city or Ponce. If they’re not tired of the food and travel by then I’d take them a little further down to Five Points and hit Cookout off Moreland Ave. And lastly, if my friend can dance we cannot forget to hit up a dance class at 411. Some of the best names in the dance game started right there, and you might even run into a few. Other honorable mentions are Bonfire ATL, Stone Mountain for my nature folks, Botanical Gardens or Calloway Gardens for my adventurers, Robert’s Soul Food, King of Wings, Zaxby’s, and Publix subway sandwiches for all the foodies.
