We had the good fortune of connecting with Rialand Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rialand, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I knew I wanted to have freedom. And I knew I couldn’t have that as long as I worked for someone else. If I’m going to bust my butt working, I’m going to do it for myself.

What should our readers know about your business?
Was it easy?! Heck no! It certainly wasn’t easy. But I’m ok with that. One of the phrases that’s become kid of a montra for me the last four or five years is this, “I don’t need easy, I just need possible.” One of the things I’m most proud of is that we still exist, that we made through the last 18 months. There are a lot of businesses that didn’t make it.
Perseverance. That’s the driving force behind both my personal brand and the Lammar Marie’s Gourmet Popcorn brand. To get through all the challenges we faced, pretty much from the begining, we had to be ok with changing things on the fly, pivoting quickly. We had stay focused on solutions instead of problems. That’s what allowed us to come up with creative ways to get through the challenges. And there were A LOT of them.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d have to my Grandmother. She was my earliest example of someone finding solutions, and not letting the “lack of” stop her from at least trying new things.
