We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Quality!

I will not sell anything I wouldn’t use on myself, my mother, or my daughter.

Candles made with perfume-grade fragrance oils, premium essential oils, lead- free cotton wicks, and natural  coconut wax. Coconut wax  candles burns longer than regular parrafin or soy candles.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started my business plan in 2019. In February of 2020, I registered my business. One month later, the corona epidemic hit the U.S. hard. I had to overcome many obstacles. There was a glass, candle wax, and packaging shortage. I was laid off from my job, so I had less funds to invest in my business. I was also admitted to the hospital for one week because of Coronavirus. I finally launched June 18th, 2020! I’m excited with all of the support and great feedback I have recieved thus far!

My daughter was the inspiration behind Whipped Scents. She suffered from eczema as a baby. Most products on the market did not work or were too expensive to be full of filler ingredients like petroleum and mineral oil. I began studying herbalism and holistic healthcare. I created a body butter and bath soak that soothed all of her ailments. All my life, I also a suffered from acne. I later handcrafted skincare that healed my acne without irritating my skin. Candles actually started out as a hobby to help me get through depression. I noticed my candles lasted alot longer than most of my favorite retail brands, so I decided to add them to my line.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m definitely a person that loves the outdoors, nature, and museums.

I would definitely include the aquarium, zoo, or botanical garden!.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My daughter Brooklyn, my niece Ania, and my boyfriend Ryan!

My 6 year old daughter has been my biggest inspiration and helper. She tells me constantly how proud she is of me, and how she wants to run the company for me when she is a grown up. She helps me label and bag products.

Ania is beautiful intelligent young lady with great work ethic as a teenager! Her aspirations are to own her own salon one day! I’m definitely teaching her everything I can now when it comes to running her own business, branding, building her personal credit while she’s young, marketing, finding vendors, and making her own products. She is a super fast learner. Making candles and skincare is a SCIENCE.
