Meet Deymon Fleming, Jr.: Student, C.E.O., Motivational Speaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Deymon Fleming, Jr. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Deymon, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
During the Covid-19 pandemic, many people were distraught, depressed, and felt as if they could not accomplish anything. I felt as if people needed motivation more than ever before, hence the company’s name “Beat All The Odds”. I felt a necessity to uplift people who felt let down by hard times, especially those in my own generation. I noticed that there are many apparel businesses in the industry, but few inspire their supporters to be a better version of themselves. It was imperative for me to create a brand that had a true and valuable meaning behind the name.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is that I actually live out the meaning of what my brand stands for. In times of struggle, challenge, or business I rose to the challenge and sought to do better for others. I am most proud of the fact that I have successfully become an inspirational entrepreneur while I am 17 years old and in high school. Overcoming challenges like hearing people say that it would be too hard to create a brand from scratch was not easy, but nonetheless, I put my trust in God and kept pushing because I knew that if I gave up, I would have no chance of accomplishing what my brand stands for which is to “Beat All The Odds.”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would cook for my best friend if they came into town because I can make a mean chicken parmesan. Then, I would be sure to take my friend downtown to take pictures in front of all the beautiful Atlanta scenery. I would want my friend to see the National Center for Civil and Human Rights for sure and I would also want them to go on an adventure so our last stop would be Six Flags.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents and grandparents, Alesia and Deymon Fleming, Sr. and Marsha Frazier and Lona Hayes, definitely deserve a huge shoutout for how hard they have pushed me since birth to have the mindset of being the best at whatever it is that I do and they have supported me in every endeavor I have partaken in. Secondly, I would like to shout out some of my youth football coaches from the Tucker Football League, specifically Coach Brandon Henry and Coach Trae Hurst, for recognizing my leadership qualities and supporting me at such a young age.
