Through our work we have had the good fortune of seeing firsthand how success comes in every shape, size, color, faith, and orientation. More importantly we’ve learned that success is often the result of people embracing their unique backgrounds and so we’ve asked the community to tell us about their background and how it has impacted where they are today.

I’m from a very small town in south Ga, called Moultrie. My upbringing I think has everything to do with who I am today. My mom showed me what living check to check looks like, so with seen that I never wanted to live that way. I would save and hide money all the time because I seen so many rainy days growing up. My dad taught me how to be an entrepreneur, not even knowing he was running his own business. My dad would always have money in his pocket and a car to work on. He would get off his 9 to 5 and head to his shop, and get right to work like he was coming off a lunch break. My upbringing showed me what I wanted and didn’t want to deal with in life. Read more>>

Evalye Alexander | CEO & Founder / Philanthropist

I’m a true Atlantan, born and raised in the vibrant heart of Georgia. My upbringing was a crash course in kindness and empathy. Even as a young kid of 6 or 7, I vividly remember eagerly handing spare coins to the homeless, a small gesture that felt huge at the time. I’d pester my mom endlessly, hoping we could join those families supporting kids in Africa with just pocket change. Growing older, my mom opened doors for my sister and me to volunteer at community events. Those moments were magic—each Christmas, we’d dive into this beautiful tradition, spreading joy to kids stuck in the hospital during the holidays. But the game-changer arrived in my early 20s when I volunteered with Hosea Feed the Hungry during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Read more>>

I am from a place where every Saturday is ‘All Blues Saturday’—Mobile, Alabama. Growing up in Alabama, I was surrounded by Southern music, food, and art. The Gulf Coast holds a special place in my heart due to the water and the comfort of my community. The slow, easygoing energy of the city manifests in my approach to work.
