Inspiration goes a long way for me. When I was younger I’d remember seeing many artists on films live their lives freely and sort of “carefree”. Even in how they would work. Seeing how some would blast music in their studios and dance around while brushing away at their canvases was appealing and inspiring to me. At times I felt I truly belonged in the early era of “modern art” because of not only the influence, but the creative expression of it. Well firstly, I am inspired by the beautiful island I grew up on called St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. I was always surrounded by warm energy and life, whether that was from the people in my community or the tropical plants and animals I was near. There was such a great contrast of vibrant colors, from the blue Caribbean waters to the pink bougainvillea plants and lush green hillsides. I am inspired by so many things. First and foremost, my parents have always been my source of inspiration. They are three steps beyond hardworking as they are diligent servants to their community and the lifeline to the family. My oldest sister inspires me.
