The Decision Makers Series: Inspiration

A big part of making decisions is determining what our actions and choices have been inspired by. So we asked decision makers from the community to tell us about what they are inspired by.
I’m inspired by individuals that have harnessed that child-like / whimsical spirit in many of their creative endeavors. Legendary icons like Robin Williams that left a lasting impression on many of our lives (as is sadly no longer here), and fellow short-form video creators like my friend Rob Johnston (@robontherun on Instagram). Seeing the reactions from followers that not just enjoy, but have declared that they NEED entertainment that cheers them up and/or helps them escape whatever stress or difficult season they’ve been dealing with…. that, too, is so massively inspiring to KEEP CREATING. I am inspired by the idea of being able to reimagine the world around me for better. My career has always in one way or another contributed to innovation, diversity and inclusion, and most importantly building a better world. It is important every single day in whatever form or way we show up in the world we are attempting to build and do better. This often starts with ourselves. I am inspired by being and doing better. Struggle and perseverance. There nothing that will push you to your mental and physical limits like desperation. I think comfort makes a lot of people content, and they slow down, no longer push themselves, procrastinate, and overall lose the drive. Its when we are most stressed that our brains never shut off. And it’s in those moments, we find our greatest ideas, most inspiring stories and characters, and beautiful plots seem to emerge because they reflect life’s struggles. Read more>>
