Lavender Lounge was created as a social safe haven where queer people of color can truly be free in a time when our go to places were being taken away from us here in Atlanta, Georgia. Even in our queer spaces we have experienced a divide amongst us (i.e. status, money, looks, etc) and in order to combat that we create spaces where all can unite, connect, and enjoy life through genuine social interactions. We created our business in response to the lack of diversity in Atlanta’s queer social life with the intention of filling the void by providing experiences that satisfy people who enjoy have varied interests. Unfiltered Photography has many passion areas, one specifically is the homeless population in which I call Hidden Figures. Each photoshoot that I have a percentage goes towards the efforts that I do in my community. I typically do a Summer and Winter event. In December I will be hosting my Annual Holiday for the Homeless Event. This is an event where I provide a hot homecooked meal, Unfiltered Sweatshirts, hats, gloves, scarfs, and all other winter essentials at a local shelter. During the Summer I held Hidden Figures Freedom Fest. This was an event where our Hidden Figures were offered a vendor like experience where they could shop around for any items that they needed for FREE.
