We had the good fortune of connecting with Nubia Adams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nubia, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
To know whether to keep going or give up, one must continuously check in with themselves and evaluate their reason. When giving up starts to feel like an option, I have found that evaluating my ‘why’ does one of two things. It inspires me to continue building or highlights Nu directions that I have the freedom to explore. For me, this guidance is found in stillness, journaling and meditation. Listening to my inner compass, in addition to the Divine’s call over my life. I believe that what’s for you will keep calling you. Giving up is not a thought because you will find yourself naturally doing what’s called for you. Sometimes the thought of giving up is more painful than continuing.

What keeps me from giving up is the community of people who love and support my vision. Who now use my offerings in their daily lives. The life changing testimonials I have received from customers and clients. That’s what keeps me in forward motion. I couldn’t give up, my community would not let me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Like many creatives, my artistry is multifaceted. My creativity knows no bounds. I draw, paint, write and craft well, but as an herbalist and gardener my medium of choice is plants. All colors in our product line are plant-powered; functional, artisanal made beauty products to be used for wellness and skincare. I am proud of the alchemy and unique process of magic, transformation and creation. I’m most proud that I have been able to maintain my vision of keeping all products raw, whole•food and plant-based. Everything is made with a combination of herbs, flowers, clays, oils, butters, salts and superfoods. Operating with integrity and not taking shortcuts has been the key to maintaining a quality product line.

NBU Bath Botanicals is a full holistic skincare line with a variety of bath products to include but not limited to handmade natural bath bombs, a clay + Shea based artisan soap collection based on the elements, herbal bath oils, soaks and powders.

NEBŪ Wellness is a collection of wellness products including plant-based womb care, maintenance and feminine hygiene, detoxes, herbal teas, capsules and massage oils.

The most important lesson I have learned is to trust my process and be more patient with myself. I give myself grace in my imperfections and knowing that I am not yet all that I will be. This is only the beginning for me; focusing less on the destination and more on the journey.

I want the world to know that my businesses are my namesake, the beginning of my legacy, truly an extension of myself, and we are here to stay. NBU Bath Botanicals and NEBŪ Wellness are lifestyle brands meant to serve you in more ways than physical. To nurture your mental, spiritual and emotional selves. I intend to create staple products that become part of your daily routine, so much that you don’t want to be without them.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would definitely spend time outdoors enjoying some sunshine, maybe go on a hike, to hot yoga, hit a coffee house or crystal shop, visit a local brewery or a sunny rooftop vibe, have dinner with wine, find an R&B night or somewhere with live music and dancing.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my FAMILY who loves, supports and keeps me encouraged in all ways. They have been with me from the beginning, when my business was simply a thought. They have given me the time, space, grace and understanding to grow. They have been present for my wins, my lessons and redirections. They understand my vision and that I am manifesting a free life. Freedom attained for me is freedom attained for my family. What’s mine will always be ours. Blessings to my bloodline forward and backward. I give thanks always to my customer family who is patient with my process and continues to pour into my cup and share my offerings with others.
