We had the good fortune of connecting with NaShaye Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi NaShaye, why did you pursue a creative career?
I enjoyed conversing with people. Once I got really good and comfortable with it, I knew journalism was the path for me to take. And it’s opened so many more doors to continue on this journey.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I think what sets me apart is my communication mannerism, my patience and my understanding. They are truly spiritual gifts. They work miracles for me in business, relationships, finances, friendships and amongst my family. Truly, truly God sent and ordained.

I am most proud of how far I’ve come and how evolved my value has bloomed overtime. I never thought being a simple journalist would make me who I am today and will be in the future. I’m proud of just making that decision and never regretting it.

.To be who and where I am today, I simply got started. I jumped in with full confidence and never looked back. I introduced myself as The NaShayeJ in 2019 and always showed up as her. Whatever I didn’t know, I learned. Of course it wasn’t easy. I dealt with imposter syndrome for a while and questioned my true value. But the more I worked and showed up the easier it became. I overcame the challenges by remembering I wanted to be, do and have more. That was my motivation.

A lesson I’ve learned on this journey is I can’t do anything with out God. It could be as simple as driving to the other side of town, I need his guidance and his protection. And if he’ll help me with that I know he’ll cover me on the chosen career path. This is an everyday, ongoing lesson.

I would like those who support me, those who are inspired by me and those who want to meet me someday, that I am only human. I hurt, I cry, I get angry and I fall just like you. But because God and Christ is my anchor I always overcome. They are the source of my very being and of each breathe so I keep them first in all things. If you do just that, in faith, they will work out the details in your life just the same. Trust them through the ups and downs and you’ll be fine.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a really fun and active person. So rock climbing, skating, ice skating, race cars and more activities are always on my mind. It’s really hard to point out food places because we have so many good ones to choose from. Especially black owned restaurants. Huge shoutout to them. And although I don’t hang out like before I’ll still say a few hangouts for good vibes is the Avondale Hookah Lounge, Sleek Bar & Grill, 3000 Bar, Cassanovas and 88 Bar.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It’s only right to shoutout the main guy. The big G! God. Without his guidance or his maintenance of love for me, none of this would have been possible. I dedicate my entire life and experience to him. I love him and I promise to glorify him for the rest of my life.
