Meet Nadia Butterfield | Model and Actress

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nadia Butterfield and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nadia, what role has risk played in your life or career?
In the world of modeling and acting, you HAVE to take risks. I think of risks through the known saying, “No risk, no reward.” In order to see some sort of progress, you need to be able to take a risk. Big or small, putting yourself in an uncomfortable situation may be the best thing that could happen to you. You honestly never know until you try.

I believe that if I did not put myself out there and create connections with other individuals in my field, I would not have the success I have today. Of course, it is a nerve-racking feeling to take a chance on yourself. But if you don’t… then who will?

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a represented actress and unsigned model. I believe my hard work and persistence is what got me to where I am today. Through much adversity these past few, I still managed to push forward. This is what sets me apart from others. I don’t think most people could overcome what I have been through and come out with such grace. I believe that is what I am most proud of… simply not giving up on myself.

To get to where I am today takes a lot of patience and faith. It also takes discipline; if you want to be a better actor… you can’t just say it. You have to become active. Take classes. Watch videos. STUDY the craft. The same goes for modeling. Practice in the mirror. Begin working with skilled photographers and mentors. Eventually, things will become easier and it will feel like second nature.

Nothing that happens fasts lasts. Of course none of this was or is easy. Overcoming challenges is probably the one thing that makes or breaks an individual who wants to truly be apart of this industry. You cannot let what others say tear you down. Take the constructive criticism and build from it. When you feel uninspired, INSPIRE yourself. Always remember that there is no one in the world like YOU. Let the world think what they want, but always know who you are no matter what.

I want the world to know that this is just the beginning for me and my career. I am so blessed to be where I am today, but my vision is larger than just me. I want to continue to inspire and lead a new generation of trailblazers. Thankfully, God is aligning everything in due time.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would first suggest staying at the Epicurean, a modern hotel located in the heart of Downtown Atlanta. There’s an amazing rooftop with a pool, cabanas, drinks and yummy bites. We could check out Cirque Blu Seafood House, where the portions are HUGE and super delicious. They also have every flavor daiquiri that you could think of and a lovely ambiance. One of my all time favorite spots has to be the belt line, where you can workout, ride bikes, eat, drink, AND shop. There’s something to do for everyone and it’s still growing! For a chill night out, we could go to LOOK! Cinema and catch a movie while also enjoying a delicious meal. There’s even a Crumbl Cookies next door, to satisfy our light night sweet tooth.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout my support system. My mom, dad, brother, and closest friends have been there for me through my darkest hour. I am so grateful to have them to confide in when times get rough. I am even more grateful to have them by my side to celebrate when the storm passes. Thank you for being my anchor. I love you and I would not be where I am today without your love and support.
