We had the good fortune of connecting with Zykia Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zykia, do you have a budget? how do you think about personal finances?
Yes, I do have a budget plan for all of my businesses right now but when I started my entrepreneurial journey I had no idea about budgeting and that was my biggest downfall. After learning the benefit of budgeting and income vs expenses my personal finances have increased tremendously. Now that I’m able to balance out the two I have a payment plan in place that sets aside a certain amount of money a week that I’m able to spend on fulfilling my lifestyle needs, that way I won’t ever have the issue of wondering if I should spend my money on certain things that I like.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Although, I have 3 separate businesses at the moment they all tie into the same goal and that’s self-care/self-love. We are currently going through times where it’s hard to love and care for yourself when you’re constantly caring for others, and that’s something that I used to struggle with. I’ve based my businesses strictly on caring for others, so that they can be their best selves when caring for the ones they love. The journey to this point was a little rocky because I didn’t know where to start originally. I’ve always knew that I wanted to care for people and take care of them I just didn’t know how, so I started in college by taking up nursing. It took me 3 years before I finally realized that my true passion wasn’t just in the medical field. I want to help people all over the world! While on this journey I’ve learned many lessons, but the most important lesson I’ve learned is that great things rarely come easy! If you want a great life with everything you could ever dream of, you have to work hard! Luck will only take you so far and the rest is up to you. The future truly is in your hands, you just have to want it bad enough.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta has many restaurants, malls, activities, lounges, and more that are all amazing so it’s hard to decide between the best spots. If my best friend and I were on a week long trip just to relax I’d definitely visit these places again: The Illuminarium, Botanical Gardens, The Trap Museum, The Georgia Aquarium, The Coca-Cola Factory, JJ’s Fish and Chicken, The Bando, Boogalou Lounge, CRU Lounge, Escobar Restaurant, and there’s many more but these are just some of my top favorites.

The vibes were amazing, the staff were so friendly at all locations, prices are affordable, and it’s not too much going on at one time. Atlanta is one of my favorite destinations by far, hands down!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give all the credit of my success to my mother, my son, and my niece. My mom has supported every business endeavor that I’ve gotten myself into, even the ones that didn’t fall through. She has been here every step of the way supporting and motivating me without knowing my plan or end-goal and I’ll forever be thankful for that. One day I’m going to pay her back 10X. My son and niece are responsible for my hustle and ambition! Everything I do today is to ensure that they won’t ever go without tomorrow. I also, want to show them that the sky is no longer the limit. You can go as far as you want, anything you put your mind to is possible to achieve.
