We had the good fortune of connecting with Zoe’ Singleton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zoe’, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Rainbow Promise, LLC originated with a dream. I had no thoughts of authorship. God gave me an entire book (In My Father’s Eyes; IMFE) in a dream, and when I awoke, I wrote it down. The hard part was deciding to move forward on what He’d given me. I had no plan and no skillset in the area of authorship which gave me pause. However, when I decided to move forward. God led me to the resources I needed at every stage.
What should our readers know about your business?
Rainbow Promise, LLC was founded on the premise of a promise. The company stands to remind the world of God’s faithfulness toward His people. The rainbow is not only a symbol of hope, but a reminder of the promise God made. He will cover and protect us forever (Genesis 9: 13 & 16). Every move that Rainbow Promise, LLC makes is led by the voice of God.
The goal of the IMFE (In My Father’s Eyes) brand is to spread the message of God’s love to children (and their caregivers) worldwide. Everyone needs to know that God loves them with and unwavering and unconditional love. We should all be encouraged to see ourselves through God’s eyes; He sees the good in all of us. If we teach our children to affirm themselves in their youth, they will grow to be more confident and capable…postured to spread God’s love.
My journey in authorship has taught me that our plans are just rough drafts; God determines the final design. Don’t be overwhelmed if you can’t see the entire picture, don’t have the resources, or don’t possess the skillset. If God places a thing in your heart, He simply needs your “yes” and your first step. He will orchestrate each one after that. He will send the people, the resources and the skills. He has proven Himself faithful to me.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This question made me giggle because if my actual best friend was visiting, she’d come equipped with her own itinerary. Let’s see…
These places are on my itinerary in no particular order
Food:
Starbucks
Mamak (vegan restaurant)
Poor Calvins
Modern Thai
Activities:
Ross Dress for Less (don’t judge me)
Atlantic Station (shopping and ice skating)
Trampoline Park (if kids are in tow, we’ll need to tire them out)
High Museum of Art
Independent Art exhibit (these pop up randomly throughout the year)
Horseback riding and 4 wheelers (Cloverland Ranch)
Outkast mural
Concert (Brandy, Jill Scott, or Kem Khemistry)
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give all the glory, firstly, to God. My business was birthed through a vision from Him. I’ll start by thanking my IMFE partners. Judy Wilson (@judyelizabethillo), my talented and selfless illustrator and Lydia Kashaka (@lydiakashakadesign), my skilled graphic designer. I could not have chosen better people to partner with in my endeavors. A sincere thanks goes to my junior editor, Xavion Gardner; you have an impeccable eye. I am so grateful to my husband, Melvin, and my sons, David and Dru. They are my muses and unwavering support system. My mother, Ruby Gibson, is my biggest cheerleader and an invaluable asset in helping me market and spread the word about IMFE. Last, but certainly not least, I have to thank my IMFE family. I have received so much love and support from my community. I’m grateful for every kind word, share, post and purchase. Thank you just doesn’t express all that my heart holds.
