We had the good fortune of connecting with Zoe Hill and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zoe, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
In high school I had the dream of owning my own business someday. That dream grew and after completing esthetic school I had the opportunity to make it a reality.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Every day is different, challenging and exciting. I truly never know what my day will be like. No two days are ever the same. Everyone has different skin, hair, and body shapes. No client will ever be exactly the same. My job gives me the opportunity to have a positive impact on people’s lives and make a difference every day. The most rewarding part is knowing my clients look forward to coming to their appointment and I get to boost their self confidence.
You must be up for the challenge and have the knowledge to conquer all. I have been trained in several settings. Fully working in both salon and spa has helped me to succeed. This will forever be my advice to all students, work in the industry as much as you can in every way before you attend school and start your own business.
Goals are a major part of Zo Aesthetics. We have so much to offer already, so much more to come that we simply cannot wait to share! Stay tuned because this is just the begining of my entrepreneurship dreams.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a local native and resident of Dawson County. My business is located in Forsyth County. I spend a lot of time in both counties. When family and friends come to visit you can usually catch us going to breakfast at J & S in the city limits of Dawsonville. We would be getting a warm biscuit and a side of their famous tater wedges with “fairy dust”.
Dawson County has many popular attractions. However, I personally enjoy the things and people our county has to offer that tourist don’t get to see. My friends and I would enjoy taking the dirt roads to visit Rocky Hill Farms where we would fish in a private pond and listen to a few near death stories from the farmer himself, Steve Watson.
After that we would head towards GA 400 for none the less some 0utlet Mall shopping.
We would pick up dinner at Dawsonville’s finest, The Pool Room for the famous “Bully Burger” and a hug from Mr. Dawsonville- Gordon Pirkle.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for Ashley Brandt and the women at Ash & Co. Salon. Ashley has given me an outstanding opportunity to grow where I was planted. Not only are these people my mentors but also my shoulders to cry on and listening ears. Together as two businesses in one building we truly have something special.
Our sisterhood and energy is unmatchable. It’s a rare blessing to be surrounded by a group of women who all support each other.
I will always be completely overwhelmed with the outpouring of support that our community has shown to me.
I couldn’t have handpicked a greater place. I am Blessed and I owe it all to God.
