We had the good fortune of connecting with Zicri Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zicri, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Following up with clients to make sure they loved their service, or products is essential to our team. I believe asking my clients for feedback has helped me identify possible holes in my business structure and pivot accordingly to make sure we provide the best possible client experience. Customer satisfaction=referrals. When your clients feel taken care of, they will recommend your services to others- and as a result, your business will grow.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Renova Mobile Spa was founded in 2020. The spa where I had worked for almost 6 years was closed in the midst of the pandemic, and suddenly, I was left without an income. I was shoved out of my comfort zone, and forced to reinvent myself. I took my passion to the road and began offering in-home massage and skin care services, and quickly grew my client list from 2 to 442. I began to recruit other massage therapists and estheticians, and Renova is now a team of 5 servicing the Hall County, Gwinnett County, and Atlanta areas.

As part of Renova’s recent rebrand, we are heavily promoting our chair massage services to local corporate offices as a practical solution to employee burnout in the workplace. Depending on the size of the office, we send a team to that office on a weekly or monthly basis to offer therapeutic massage focused on alleviating neck, back, and shoulder pain. Our corporate wellness program is designed to help companies shift their office culture to one that promotes a healthy and balanced work environment for their staff, and we are so excited to expand that side of Renova. Bringing massage therapy into the workplace does not only boost employee morale, lower stress (cortisol) levels, and improve job satisfaction in the individual, but it also exposes people to therapy who have never had a massage, or might have not ever thought to book one for themselves at home.

We are extremely grateful for the growth we have experienced in the past 3 and half years, but it has not been without its challenges. As we grew, we found ourselves needing more therapists, and most of the time it was hard to find help. The times we did find help, the next challenge was to ensure that those therapists were taking proper care of our clients and representing the brand with excellence. It has always been of the utmost importance that each client’s experience is consistent with the quality we promote. With time, I have learned that if we focus on recruiting therapists that truly love what they do it translates into the customer experience, and guarantees a successful session over and over again.

Regardless, each challenge has taught me a valuable lesson that has afforded me the opportunity to improve in business and in life. Just to name a few:
1. Treat everyone with respect. When your colleagues feel seen, heard, and taken care of, it goes a long way.
2. If you or anyone in your company makes a mistake, FIX IT. Whether that means you issue a refund, offer a free service, or include an extra gift with the service.. fix it. Your customers deserve the best you’ve got to offer.
3. Ask for help. As an entrepreneur you wear many hats, but it doesn’t mean you have to do it all by yourself. One of the best moves I’ve ever made is to get a business coach to help me define a clear vision for my business, and also for accountability.

While we are super proud of where we are as a company, I know there is still so much room to grow and I’m so excited to see what the future holds for us as Atlanta’s best mobile spa service.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When friends and family come in from out of town, we love to take them to Marcel for dinner. They prepare the absolute best dry aged ribeye in town, hands down, and have the most delicious sides! I also keep a residents pass to the Georgia Aquarium and love to take friends and family. The habitats are so impressive, and the shows are spectacular, especially at Christmastime. We almost always plan a Mexican food tour in Gainesville at some point during the visit since that’s where I grew up, and where you can find some of the best tacos, Mexican street corn, hand-made flour tortillas, and home-made Mexican ice cream. And when the weather’s nice, the belt line is never short of things to see and taste.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people in my 17 year career that have motivated me, inspired me and blessed me with bits of wisdom that I still hold on to and apply in my life today. While all of those things have played a major role in who I am and who I have chosen to be, the wins in my life are due to God and my faith. I believe it was He who gave me the gift of healing, and it is His grace that has allowed me to extend my reach and passion of helping others from the treatment room to a place of entrepreneurship.
