We had the good fortune of connecting with Zay Aliyah and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zay, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
From a young age I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset and liked the idea of being my own boss.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Getting to where I am today wasn’t an easy journey, it took a lot of resilience and determination. To overcome hard times on my journey I remind myself that I’ve inspired many other young people. I’m most excited for my upcoming clothing brand that I’ve been working on for a while which has always been an aspiration of mine. The biggest lesson I’ve learnt along the way is that you have to believe in your own craft before you expect anyone else to believe in you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friend was visiting the first place i would take them to is to Oxford Circus to do clothes shopping which I enjoy as I get inspiration for my future clothing brand and I can style them. To eat I’d take them to vapianos. We could also go to a late night arcade and do some activities.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My friend remi has always been my biggest supporter and has helped me push forward at times I wanted to give up
