We had the good fortune of connecting with Zanobia Irby and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zanobia, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
Other than deciding to work for myself an important decision I made to contribute to my success was to use what I learned and help other people do the same so I dove into mentorship for other designers. The information is there but not everyone has the time to find it.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My Art is fashion design from clothing to accessories my brand ZANOBIAIMAN is build around my luxury handbags. I have been in business for a little over two years and starting up it was on a rise there was a slow moment in business but without giving up it the business continued. I want the world to know I’m not just a designer I’m a helper I’m a mentor and I want to see more and more people follow their dreams.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take my best friend to eat Thai food because that’s something she enjoys we would go to Bar Of Thailand. Would would then go to Ponce City Market. Another day to Black Wall Street Market and after go to enjoy some great food at the vault. And the last day we would enjoy a day of shopping.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a special shoutout to one of my mentees she took her time to plan her brand out and it has turned out beautifully from her bags to her campaigns she is going to do great at this business. Her name is Anita Jallah
